josh: this is going to sound utterly cliche, but they mean well, their methods might be questionable, but they give a shit and at the end of the day isn't that what we all want?

lily: not from them

josh: that's .. harsh

lily: one to talk, josh

josh: listen, my father ... no, lily i have my problems and you have yours, stick to what you know okay?

lily: josh, i'm sorry

josh: yeah

lily: i don't know anything and i'm not saying that i'm not grateful just...

josh: no that's exactly what you are... you're ungrateful

lily: josh, why did you leave? i know things were bad, but ... why?

josh: you don't think i ask myself that question all the time? don't worry about it right now, okay we're talking about your problems

lily: i'm sorry

josh: what type of family do you exactly want? one that wakes you up in the morning with breakfast on the table and picks you up from school to take you watch a movie or buy you that new shiny laptop after that good grade? i'm sorry to tell you lil' there is no perfect family, even really good ones have bumps in the road

lily: ... i'm not looking for perfect

josh: well, whatever you're looking for, i'll be that for you, i'll be your family from now on, okay?

lily: okay.
