*Your POV*
I walk out to my truck after school and get a text from Betty.Betty🙃:
Hey, meet me at my house? To Betty🙃:
Sure, why?Betty🙃:
Archie and I are going to ask my mom about the autopsy for Ms. Grundy. You could convince my mom about a couple things. She's more scared of you than me.I chuckle at that.
To Betty🙃:
Wow okay. Didn't know that. I'll be over soon.I put my phone away, and start my car. I start driving to Betty's house. When I get there, the door's already slightly open, so I just walk in.
"Hey, [Y/N]," Betty says.
"Hey." I close the door and walk into the living room where they are.
"So, Mom, we need to ask you about something." I look down and notice Archie's finger quickly moving back and forth between seconds.
"Hm. You're twitching, Archie. This must mean that it's serious." Alice says and turns off her iPad.
He sighs, "I think that the same person that shot my dad, may have murdered Ms. Grundy."
"My, my. We've come a long way since dances at the gym and varsity football tryouts, haven't we?"
"You were the first one to know anything about Jason's autopsy, yes?" I ask.
She slowly nods, "Yes..."
"So, we were wondering if-"
"-If I can get details on Ms. Grundy's death and see if they line up with the attack on Fred." she nods.
"It would be really helpful to put his mind at ease."
"Fine. I'll reach out to my ghoulish friend," she says.
"Thank you, Mrs. Cooper." Archie says, "I should go." He turns and starts to walk away.
"I'll call you, Arch," Betty says. He nods and walks out the door.
"Spreading ourselves a little thin," Alice looks down, "as the patron saint of lost causes, aren't we?" Betty gives her a questioning look. "Oh, and you can cross saving Pop's off your list of things to do."
Betty and I look at each other, confused, and then I look back at Alice. "What? Why?"
"Oh, haven't you heard? Pop Tate is selling the Chock'lit Shoppe."
"What?" I ask.
"To who?" Betty adds.
"Oh, you'll love this, an anonymous buyer," she says. I scoff and look over. "Ring any bells?"
"I'm calling Vee," I say. I pull out my phone and walk into the other room. I dial her number. It rings for a little, and then she picks up.
"Hey, girl," she says.
"Did you know that Pop Tate is going to sell?" I ask, and put my hand on my hip.
"What?"
I scoff, "Yeah. And get this, to an 'anonymous buyer.'" I slowly pace around, and Betty's at the doorway. We make eye contact for a second.
"Are you joking?"
"No, I'm not," I look down.
"Oh, my God."
"Yeah."
"I bet that it's my dad that bought it," she groans.
"Seriously?" I ask.

FanfictionSuch a bad title I know. This is the sequel to 'The Diner.' I could've continued on that book, but I felt like I had too many chapters.
