*Your POV*
We drive to Pop's. There are already some people there. We both get out and walk up to the door. He puts his hands on my back, and we open the door. Betty's skating around a little, practicing. "Hey, guys." she stops."Hey," I say.
"How'd it go at the courthouse?" she asks.
"Fantastic," Jug says. We smile at each other and then look back at her.
"Well, we'll go get changed," I say.
"Oh yeah, extra uniforms are in the back," she says, motioning to the back of the kitchen.
"Okay." We both go in and change. I look at myself in the mirror, and I look okay. It's a yellow t-shirt, with white pants. You could've worn white shorts, but I don't like to show myself that much. I put on my roller skates, and go back into the diner.
"You look great," Betty says.
I laugh, "Thanks." I start to slowly skate around. "It's...been a little while since I've done this." I put my arms out to balance myself.
She laughs, too. "Yeah, I'm not the best at it, either."
Jughead comes out, with a white shirt, an apron, and a tie, while still wearing his signature beanie. "Well, you look nice," I say.
He laughs, "Thanks. So do you."
Betty sighs, "No one's here. No one's coming," she sits down at the counter.
"Don't worry, it's still early." He says.
The bell dings and Alice walks in. "Mom," Betty says, getting up from the counter. They talk a little bit, and she sits down. About fifteen minutes later, more and more people come in. There's music playing, and people talking. The bell dings and Josie and Melody walk in.
Josie clears her throat, "Why the hell did you broadcast all over social media that the Pussycats would be doing a free concert here tonight?" She asks Betty.
"I knew, that if I asked you, you would've said.." Betty starts.
"No! If my mom even hears that I set foot in this place-"
"-Josie, you care about this place, I see you in here all the time!"
"Betty," she puts her hands together, "even if I wanted to help, I'm down a cat. Valerie has a norovirus-"
"-I don't mind stepping in." Cheryl intrudes. Well, this could be interesting. "After all, if you can be a River Vixen, Josie then I can be a Pussycat. As long as it's a cover, I'm sure I'll know the lyrics."
"I mean, you do love your cheese fries, Josie," Melody says.
Josie sighs. "Fine. Fine." Betty claps her hands together, and the three of them walk out.
"Well, I better get to work." I chuckle.
"Okay." Jug says and pecks me on the cheek. I smile and skate to some tables to bust them. More and more people are coming in, and I think it's great. I'm also glad that Betty's happy. I take some people's orders and give others milkshakes and burgers. The Lodges walk in. Hermione and, Hiram? I think that's his name. I've never met him formally. They stop and talk to Veronica. I continue to do my work, and they sit down in a booth. I go back behind the counter.
"So, you never told me exactly how you got Cheryl to talk. I mean, was it like, a friendship thing or.." Jug starts.
I lean against the counter and cross my arms, "Mm, it was more of a threatening thing." I tilt my head.
He laughs, "Okay, like what?"
"Like, me saying that if she doesn't testify, then the video will be out for everyone to see."
"I didn't know that you were so vicious." We both laugh. Some serpents come into the diner, and I we both look over at him. "It's okay, they're probably just here to enjoy Pop's world-class burgers and service." He smiles. He leans in a little and so do I. he puts his finger on my chin. "Just like me." I smile and he kisses me.
"Ugh," I hear someone say, we pull away, and look over to her. It's Cheryl, of course. Jug takes his finger off my chin. He sighs and looks down. "You two are like chimps in captivity grooming and picking lice off each other." I playfully roll my eyes, and we walk towards her. "Mark this day in your diary. I lied under oath for you. And thank God I'm quick on my feet." She says, quietly.
"Cheryl, thank you." I say. I take the thumb drive from my back pocket and hand it to her. She takes it.
"Honor your promise to me," she says. I nod, and she walks away. Well, I'm going to delete that extra copy on my laptop.
"Now, I gotta put her on the spot." Pop starts, getting everyone's attention. "It's thanks to this young lady here," he points at Betty, who's standing next to Kevin, "that Pop's gets to stay open tonight, tomorrow," my eyes widen, I didn't know that they were actually able to stay open. This is amazing. "As long as you folks keep coming." Everyone cheers. "Thanks also, to the Lodge family for a donation that they just made, to give us a little cushion to weather any storm that might come up." Everyone cheers, again.
"You know, Pop, I actually think that we should also thank [Y/N]." Jug says. I look over at him, shocked. What did I do?
"Yes, we should," Betty says. I look over at her, too. Everyone starts cheering. Wow, never thought this would happen. The day everyone was cheering for me...honestly, that just seemed like a fantasy. I smile and hug Betty.
I turn back to Jug, and lightly punch his arm. He laughs, and I hug him. "Anyone up for a milkshake?" Veronica says, causing us to break.
"Yeah, definitely," I say. Jughead and I sit next to each other in a booth, while Archie and Betty sit across from us. Veronica brings out a round of milkshakes for everyone.
"Thanks, Vee," Betty says.
"Yeah, no problem." She sits down with us, next to Archie.
"Ronnie, should I introduce myself to your dad?" Archie asks.
"You've faced enough dragons tonight. Next time, Archiekins," she says.
"So I guess tonight, is a win for the good guys," I say and look at Jug.
He puts his arms around me, "A rare win, but yes." We both nod.
"You okay?" Veronica asks and looks at Archie.
"I'm here with you guys. So yeah, I think so," he says. Veronica leans up against him. He looks out the window, and so do I. Dilton's leaning against a car. Why would he be looking at him? I let it slip my mind, and take a sip of my milkshake.
"I think that tonight has been great," Betty says.
"Definitely," I add.

FanfictionSuch a bad title I know. This is the sequel to 'The Diner.' I could've continued on that book, but I felt like I had too many chapters.
