*Your POV*
I get out of bed and look at my phone. Archie texted me an hour ago. Woops.Archie😹:
Remember how you said that you shot guns with your dad a while ago?To Archie😹:
Surprised you remembered, and yesArchie😹:
I think that I want to practice today.To Archie😹:
Okay, where were you thinking?Archie😹:
Not exactly sure. Have any ideas? To Archie😹:
We can drive around and look for a place. I can pick you upArchie😹:
Okay, coolI put my phone down, and get dressed. I think that I should support him about this. I put on a jacket, and go outside. I drive to his house and knock on his door. His dad answers.
"Hey, [Y/N]. You here for Archie?" He asks.
"Yeah, we were just going to hang out," I say. I've had to lie a lot in my life, so I'm getting better at it. Although I'm not totally lying, we are hanging out.
"Okay, I'll tell him that you're here," but, he doesn't need to because Archie comes down the stairs, with his signature jacket on. I'm guessing that the gun is in there.
"Already here, I'll be back, Dad." He says, walking out the door.
We both walk to my car and get in. I start driving. "So, I was thinking that we would go farther because we don't want anyone hearing unless you've told others about your plan."
"No, I haven't."
We drive about ten or so miles away from Riverdale and run into a forest. We get out and walk around a little, and then find an open field. "Perfect," I say.
"Oh, and I brought a paper target for practice," he says.
"Okay," I look around, "Want to put it on that tree?" I ask, pointing to a random tree.
"Sure." He nods and goes over to it. When he's done, he steps a little aways from it.
"So, do you know how to use a gun?" I ask.
"Um.." he looks at it, "No," he chuckles.
"It's not too hard. Since it's a handgun, it won't recoil too much." I take the gun from his hand and show him how to hold it. "So, when holding it with two hands, which is always the best option, you want to hold it like this," I hold it how you would hold a gun. (i know how i just forgot at the moment😂)
"Okay," I hand it back to him, and he holds it like I told him to.
"Oh, and always remember to unlock the trigger before you shoot, or else nothing will happen."
"Okay." He unlocks it and points to the target. I take a couple steps back.
"Always remember to take a couple breaths before you shoot, and don't shoot while you still have oxygen in your lungs if that makes sense." I honestly don't know how to say it. He doesn't say anything, but he got the message. He holds up the gun and looks at the target. After a couple seconds, he shoots, and it slightly startles me. The bullet flies passed the right of the tree. He tries again, and this time it hits the left of the tree. The next time, it hits little to the left of the target. On the last one, it hits it dead in the center.
I clap a couple times, "Nice."
"Thanks." He puts the gun down. "So, do we get the bullets or.."
"No, they're probably miles from here," I say, nodding.
"Do you wanna try?" He asks.
I take a deep breath, "I guess," he hands me the gun. I haven't done this in awhile, I just remember the techniques. He steps back, and I hold it up. I squint my eyes to see the target. I take a deep breath in, and a deep breath out a couple times. I shoot, and it hits the top of the target. I move down just a little and shoot again. It hits the center.
"You're good at this." He says. I put the gun down.
I shrug, "Well, I've taken classes so, I guess." I hand it to him. After about an hour of taking turns shooting, we call it good. I reminded him to get more ammo later because we used most of it. We end up going to Pop's to get a milkshake.
"So, what are your plans for this?" I ask, taking a sip.
"I'm going to go to the Southside, and tag some of the buildings with a red circle. Just to threaten them a little."
"You are literally scared of nothing."
He chuckles. "I'm just mad at whoever did this," he drinks his.
"Yeah, I get that. Do you want me to come?"
"That's okay, I think I want to do this by myself."
"Okay, but if anything, and I mean anything, bad happens, you call me."
"You sound like my mom."
We both laugh, "I've been sounding like that a lot lately." I say, kind of quietly.
"What?"
"Nothing. Just don't want you getting hurt, yeah?"
"Okay, that's fair."
"So, you haven't told anyone else about this, right?"
"No. I feel like I should, though."
I shrug, "Maybe. Probably not Jug though, because he might be offended of what you're doing, just because he goes to their school now."
"Yeah, you're probably right."
There's a small moment of silence before I talk. "Okay." I pause, and he looks up, "So, I'm not going to talk to you a lot about this but," I tilt my head, "did you really have to post that video?" He sighs. "I mean, everyone's seen it now."
"I don't know. I was just mad. I took it down from Youtube, but it's been shared too many times.."
"Yeah. You realize that you're now sort of a target yourself, right?"
"I know..that's kind of what I was going for."
"What?"
"If he comes after me, then I'd have a shot at killing him."
"So, that's what you're planning on doing? Killing him?" He doesn't say anything. "And then what do you plan to do afterward? Go to jail? Or just hope that you don't get caught? What if you miss and he shoots you first?" He looks down, at his lap. "You know that I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you died, right?"
"I'm not going to die." He looks up at me, and sighs, "I won't. I'm probably just not going to run into him."
"Are you sure you don't want anyone to come?"
He nods, "No. I have to do this on my own."
We just sit there and make small talk, for another 30 or so minutes. I drop him off at his house and then drive back to my apartment.

FanfictionSuch a bad title I know. This is the sequel to 'The Diner.' I could've continued on that book, but I felt like I had too many chapters.
