*Your POV*
We walk out of the building, and I stop with Jughead. "Okay, what's going on?" I ask."Oh, so now you're talking to me?" Jug asks. In the corner of my eye, I see Betty watching us. Which, honestly I don't mind for once.
"I need to know what's going on. And I promise, that everything that I'm doing right now, is for your safety."
"Oh really?"
"Yes, really." I nod. "Jughead, I honestly, don't know what I'd do without you."
"You have Archie." He quietly says, so no one else can hear.
"That is not what you think, okay? I promise. Something must've gotten into your head about that."
"Just go ahead and say it, [Y/N]," he says. I sigh. "The first time you said you loved me, on the night of the Jubilee. That meant everything to me. And then you dump me."
"I'm sorry, Jughead. I really am." my eyes start to water slightly, but he just glares at me, waiting for me to say something else. "It's, not going to make sense, but everything around us, was imploding, and I did it to protect you."
He sighs, "[Y/N] you did the one thing that could actually hurt me."
"I will explain everything to you, I promise I will."
He nods and walks away. I sigh and close my eyes. "[Y/N]," Betty says. I turn around and start softly crying. She nods and pulls me in for a hug. After a couple seconds, we break. "I will talk to him. Okay? I will. Someone's gonna have to fix his car tomorrow."
I nod, "Thanks."
*Betty's POV*
The next day, I'm in a garage fixing up Jughead's car. I really hope that talking to him will put some sense into him. "Pass me the wrench, please," I say. He gives me it, and then leans against the car. "So, this is what Serpents do for fun, huh?""I guess." he's still not looking at me.
"I thought you said you uh," I fix something before I finish my sentence, "weren't gonna join them."
"Alright, what do you want?" He turns to me, crossing his arms.
I look at him. I fix one last thing up and then stand up. "I just think that you should cut [Y/N] a break."
"Are you serious? She said that she didn't want to see me because I crossed the 'dark side.' That's what Archie said, anyway."
"You should not be worried about them, Jughead," I say, looking at him. He doesn't say anything. "Look, Jug how many years have I known you?"
"What?"
"How many years?"
He shrugs, "What does this have anything to with this conversation?"
"13 years. And you know, when I'm lying or not." He glances at me, and then forward. "[Y/N]'s really upset right now. She still loves you."
"Then why did she leave me?" Said more as a statement, than a question.
I don't respond. After a couple minutes, I finish working on his car. "Just, do me one thing." He glances at me. "The next time she talks to you, listen." I put a towel on my shoulder. "It could go a long way." I tilt my head and then walk off.
*Your POV*
"Alright! Let's do this!" A Serpent yells, getting everyone's attention, and they all start cheering."Not the kind of drag race I ever imagined myself going to, but at least the guys are hot," Kevin says. I playfully punch him in the arm. I see Jughead and go over to him.
I nod, and put an arm out, "Just wanted to say, good luck, and don't get hurt. We both know I couldn't live if that happened."
I expect him to do something like glare at me, or scoff or ignore me, but he doesn't. He nods, "I won't." He gets into his car.
~
"So, you're not with Jughead anymore?" Kevin asks me.
I look over at him. "I don't know," I say kind of quickly.
"Everyone scatter! The cops are rounding up Ghoulies!" someone yells, and everyone panics. Some people get into their cars and speed away. Jughead and Archie come back.
"Oh, my God. Oh, my God. You're okay." Veronica says, going up to Archie.
"What happened?" I ask.
"We gotta get out of here," Archie says.
"Come on, come on we gotta go, right now," Jughead says.
"You called the cops!?" someone asks, coming over to us. "You won't throw in with the Ghoulies but you will with the cops? Where's the honor in that?"
"Calm down, Tallboy. You think I knew Keller was gonna be there?" He asks, aggressively.
"I called Keller," Archie says. God, Archie don't get him angrier than he already is.
"What the hell, Archie?! Did my dad tell you about this, too?" I have never seen Jughead so mad before...
"No, this was my idea," Archie says, trying to calm him down. "To get rid of the Ghoulies and it worked. They get arrested for street racing, and now they're off the chessboard."
"For how long? One month? Three months?" He snaps. "You know they're gonna want-" Jug starts. I can't take this anymore. I hate seeing him like this.
"Betty, we should go," I say, and she nods. We both get into my truck and drive away.

FanfictionSuch a bad title I know. This is the sequel to 'The Diner.' I could've continued on that book, but I felt like I had too many chapters.
