Chapter 69

Mynetta POV

I️ stormed out of the hotel room, down the hall, out of the elevator and out of the hotel. I️ got inside of the Corvette and sped off.

Vanessa will just have to get her own ride home. I don't want to be near her right now. I don't know how to feel about this. It was happening so fast that my emotions couldn't keep up.

Thankfully, all of my bags from the mall were still in the back of the car. I put the address in the gps and headed home.

"Ernecia!"I screamed once i realized that the house was quiet.

"Shh! Angel is asleep and Alicia is taking her test."Ernecia informed me as she emerged from the kitchen.

"Where are they? I need to see them!"I️ asked her as i looked around the house. "No, Alicia needs pure concentration on this test."She stopped me. I managed to push my feelings about Vanessa to the side. Happiness took over me. I wanted to see my kids.

"Mommy?"I heard Alicia say as she turned the corner.

"Baby!"I screamed as i bent down to her level with my arms spread. "Mommy!"She screamed, a smile from ear to ear plastered on her face as she ran into my embrace.

"Alicia, oh my goodness! I've missed you so much baby."I spoke in a low tone as I️ held her. I could feel the waterworks coming.

"I thought you'd never come back Mommy. I thought you didn't love me anymore."She mumbled as her small arms tightened around my neck.

"I love you, Alicia. Don't you ever think different. I never stopped loving you. You're my baby, my first baby, my first daughter. I️ could never betray you like that."I started. "Mommy did something horrible and had to leave for a while but I'm back now. I'm back for good, okay? Stop crying."I spoke softly as I️ wiped her tears away.

"You won't leave again?"She asked. She sniffed.

"No. I'll never leave you again. I'm sorry baby."I️ replied. I couldn't help but to kiss all over her. I️ felt horrible that I️ had to be away from my family for so long. I missed her first word, first steps, first school day and that's just a few of the things I️ missed out on.

We sat on the floor for a while, just clinging to each other. I didn't want to let her go and i know she felt the same.

"Can i be excused from the rest of the test Miss Jackson?"Alicia asked Ernecia who was just smiling and watching us interact. "Awh, i guess. I'll just reschedule it for two days from now."Ernecia told her as she walked into the kitchen, leaving us alone.

"You've got to fill me in on what's been going on around here."i giggle as i sit on the couch and pull her up to sit beside me.

I sat on the couch for hours, listening to her run her mouth. She was in the middle of telling me a story about Christmas one year. She said that Vanessa hid the presents around the house and that she had to look for them to be able to open them. That year she got a Barbie dream house, a Barbie camp out and a bunch of dolls.

Out of nowhere, I heard cries from upstairs. That must be Angel. I damn near pushed Alicia off of my lap to get upstairs. She followed me as I raced up the stairs to get to the baby.

"Angel,"I spoke in a soft voice. I rubbed her back which seemed to soothe her. She went quiet. I picked her up as a huge smile spread across my face. She just stared at me, searching my face. She knew I wasn't Vanessa. "Hi!"I said, still smiling. She stared at me some more before giggling.
