Hey guys! I hope you all had a happy holiday and have a fun and safe new year!
My main gift for Christmas was a MacBook Air! I have literally wanted one of these for AGES!!
So if any of you have any tips or hacks please leave a comment, it would be greatly appreciated!
Now onto the chapter...
Tobias' P.O.V
A groan escapes my lips as I struggle to move. It feels impossible. I want this torture to end but I also need to be strong, I can get through this. My ribs ache as I cough up more blood, it's been like this for what feels like hours.
My eyes feel heavy, as if there are magnets pulling them together.
My body finally defeats me.
Tris' P.O.V
I have been up for ages just waiting for a text, a little glimpse of hope to tell me he's alright. I'll never stop worrying about Tobias, he's my 'The One'.
Last night Zeke carried me up to my room, trying not to wake me up. But unfortunately he did. So the little snippet of sleep I got during the movie was almost the only amount of sleep I got last night. I was way too worried about Tobias, I don't trust Marcus at all.
I heard a car go out of his drive way yesterday soon after I left and I could only assume it was Michelle's. Meaning if I was correct, Tobias was left all alone with that monster. Maybe it was my fault, I should of stayed with him, protected him as I know Marcus wouldn't dare hurt him if i was there.
Stop, my mind tells me, none of it is your fault.
But what if something terrible happened? What if Tobias is injured more than usual? He usually texts me, letting me know he's alive and okay, after a beating from Marcus.
But this time, he hasn't.
I finally decide that I will have to see for myself. Quickly, I change into some warm clothes as it is snowing outside. The weather has been rather bipolar lately.
The way to Tobias' house is slippery, I have to be extra careful not to let my crutches slip right out from under me. That's happened before and let me tell you, it's painful.
Michelle is the one who opens the door for me, thank god.
"Oh sweetie, let's get you inside. It's freezing out there!" Michelle kindly helps me inside and helps me take off my coat, giving it a good shake. I notice that Marcus' car is not in the drive way, meaning he's probably not home.
"Is Tobias home?" I ask, my voice shaking the tiniest bit. Luckily, Michelle doesn't notice.
"He should be. I haven't seen him since I left to grocery shop yesterday. He didn't even come down for Christmas dinner. I tried to see if he was alright but his door was locked."
The new information Michelle tells me makes my heart beat faster. Tobias wouldn't have stayed cooped up in his room unless something was very wrong.
Michelle let's me head upstairs. When I arrive at his bedroom door, which is at the end of the hallway, I give it a quiet knock. Maybe he's just sleeping and I defiantly don't want to wake him up if that's the case.
When he doesn't answer I try to open the door but unlike what Michelle said, it's unlocked. I nudge the door open which seems harder than usual. When I finally get it open, I realise that a foot was the thing making it hard to open.
