DREW'S POV
I catch Chloe as jumps into my arms.

I smile and look at her.

"Surprise, baby." I said.

I push some hair out of her face.

For the first time, I see her genuinely smiling.

Not a fake staged one when I tell her to smile.

She kissed me.

"I can't wait." She smiled as I put her down.

Everyone started cheering and clapping.

I heard someone yell, "Top that, Jay!"

We tried to hold back our laughter.

People started going back to class.

Guess it's time to take apart the set.

"Guess I gotta go back to AP Psych." She smiled pushing some hair behind her ear.

"Alright, baby. I'll be waiting outside the school for you." I said giving her one last kiss.

I took down the set and returned everything to their proper classrooms.

I walk out the school smiling.

Mission get Chloe to smile is achieved.

I would like to see Jay one up me.

But this took planning.

I had to schedule this, get the actors and the orchestra, talk to the director.

Even though I didn't spend a lot of money on this because it was a borrowed set, it's still the thought that counts.

And I had a pretty damn good thought.

The image of Chloe's smile wouldn't leave my head.

That's the smile I missed.

The one I longed to see again.

I checked the time.

The bell should ring soon.

Ten minutes later, kids came out of the building.

I saw Jay.

I tried to avoid eye contact with him.

"Hey um what you did for Chlo was pretty cool." He said.

"I know right." I said.

"I was uh wondering, could you serenade Jade as my promposal? I'll pay you." He said.

I bursted out laughing.

I saw Chloe coming to me.

"Funniest shit I've heard all day. Let's go, Chlo." I said putting my arm around her.

"What was that about?" She asked.

"He wanted me to serenade Jade as his promposal." I said.

She laughed that laugh that makes me melt.

I smiled at her.

"You're cute." I said.
