I opened my eyes after a while and pulled out my phone and called Koen. He was the person I could always count on when there was no one else. I dialed Koen's number and put the phone to my ear. He picked up almost immediately.
"(Y/n)! I'm so glad you called! Are you okay? What happened?" He pounded my ear with endless questions.
"Koen. I'm fine. I broke my ankle. I'm at the hospital. Can you come get me?" I asked as I tried to hold everything in.
"Yeah let me just tell-" Koen began but I cut him off.
"No. Koen, please don't tell anyone, something caused me to leave. I'll tell you about it when you get here." I said, not really wanting to continue the topic.
"Uh, yeah I'll be right over." Koen said.
I could hear him struggling to quickly get everything together and I just sighed.
I ended the call and leaned back. I lifted my hand up to my face and looked at my ring.
Would he really do something like this?
I didn't want to think about anything that has happened, but I know when Koen gets here I will have no choice but to explain everything to him.
I sat there for a while until I saw a familiar car pull up to me. Koen got out and ran up to me. The first thing he did was embrace me. It felt nice. I wrapped my arms around his neck and started to cry. He sat me down on the bench and embraced me. He held me until I couldn't cry anymore.
When I had finally stopped I pulled away and looked up and him.
"Let's go home." I said quietly.
Koen picked my up quietly and helped my into the car.
On the ride home I explained everything that happened. Koen was furious. I couldn't tell if he was more angry at Marcus or Katie. He sped us to the house and helped me in. I had just realized it was only 5am, so no one would be awake at this time.
"Koen, please don't tell anyone that I'm here yet." I asked, my voice at barley a whisper, afraid I'd alert someone in the house of my arrival.
He just nodded and helped me to his room. Since Koen was staying until a little after the wedding, I went ahead and gave him his own room. At this time I was glad I gave him a room with a lock on my door. I fell onto the bed and was immediately enveloped by its warmth.
Koen flopped down beside me and we spent a few minutes in silence until he decided to speak up.
"Do you think it was really what you think it is?" Koen asked as he averted his gaze to anything else in the room.
"I'm not even sure anymore. We've been through so much together..." I started as I looked at some of the scars on my arms that have still yet to fade.
"I mean, I don't think he would do something like this to me, but I don't know, the only thing I do know is that I can't stand to face him right now." I said as I closed my eyes.
I was listening to Koen talking when I drifted off to sleep in attempt to forget what has happened over these last few days.
I groaned as the light shined through the window, blinding me through my eyelids. I slowly sat up, being greeted by a sharp pain on the left side of my head.
Ugh, a stress headache.
I looked around and reminded myself that I was in Koen's room. I looked around some more, but Koen wasn't in the room. I got up and used my crutches to hobble over to the door. I opened it and peeked my head out slightly, being sure not to grab anyone's attention. Marcus was pacing by the far wall, Katie was sitting in a ball on the couch, and Dani was trying to cheer her up. I heard some clattering from the kitchen and assumed it was Koen.
