Boxed in and anxious this man's salvation came in an unexpected form.

Evan's hands shook as he clambered around in his bag for the change he needed, his fingers would fumble with the quarters and then he would drop them, it was god awful and riddled his anxiety even more so. But, eventually, he finally managed to keep a hold of some change and then before he knew it he was walking down the middle.
He took an empty seat near the back of the bus and let his cheek rest against his shoulder as he looked longingly out the window. His foot wouldn't stop tapping and his fingers felt stiff and foreign, he hated it.
The bus stopped suddenly and he looked out the window, unfortunately though, it wasn't his stop. He sighed to himself and continued to let his body fidget and bounce until he heard the sound of a shuffle beside him and he balled his hands together.
Don't talk to me, don't talk to me, Evan silently pleaded. He clenched his eyes shut as the bus passed over a particularly large bump and the next thing he knew he was three inches out of his seat, but just as quickly as he took off he came crashing back down and straight into the lap of the person next to him.
"Oh god, I'm so sorry!" he squeaked, quickly sitting back up in his seat and sitting still as a statue as his face began to heat up in embarrassment. The person next to him chuckled before speaking.
"It's fine," they dismissed and Evan nodded curtly before balling his hands in his lap and staring at his feet. "Hey," the man said as he placed a hand on Evan's shoulder which made him jump and look over as the man chuckled again, "No need to act so anxious," he said smoothly with a deep, gruff voice. His eyes shined a light blue from reflecting the snow outside and Evan was enthralled. "I'm not gonna kick your ass or anything, it was an accident," he gave a little smile and Evan was sure his heart was going to spontaneously flutter out of his chest.
He just nodded dumbly and continued to stare like a creep and when the bus stopped he snapped out of his daze and looked out the window but sighed when it wasn't his stop, again.
A second later, a hand was in his line of sight and he followed the limb back up to the man again. "Name's Jonathan," he said with another small smile and Evan's hand shakily reached up to shake his. "Evan." his voice cracked and he sealed his lips together tightly as the man, Jonathan chuckled next to him.
"Are you okay?" he asked, "I mean you just seem kinda tense," Jonathan said and Evan shook his head. "I-I'm fine, just, a little ball of anxiety in a metal germ biome that stops every five minutes going through Los Angeles constantly getting my hopes up that it might be my stop so that I can finally get off this thing and back to my apartment-" Evan suddenly realized he was rambling and clasped a hand over his mouth.
He took a quick peek over at Jonathan to discover that the man's smile had only grown wider and suddenly Evan wondered what his lips would feel like against his own, but he quickly shook that thought out of his head and let his hand fall away from his mouth before looking out the window again.
"Hmm... well if you don't like busses, why not take a cab?" Jonathan asked and Evan scoffed. "What, so I can be overcharged and catch the flu? No thank you."
Jonathan chuckled next to him again and then the bus stopped and Jonathan sighed. "Well, it was nice meeting you Evan," Jonathan said as he got up and Evan nodded, albeit a little awkwardly. "Yeah, see ya," he waved and Jonathan winked at him. Evan's face flushed with heat and he vowed that he would go home and forget that stupidly hot face, ridiculous smile, plump lips, baby blue eyes and laugh that made his heart stutter.
