Éclair

We stepped out of the train station to gaze upon the small town near the one I lived in. We were three-fourths the way up the mountain, just a few hours of walking until the top where less of the population lived besides the bits of urbanization around the station. Now that was an actual small town. Freemont was...well literally a hundred people or so that decided it was a great idea to all live together at the top of a mountain.

I pointed to the road that we started to walk on, "The majority of us live up this way since the mountain peak is the most pleasant to be at. It's not too far ahead."

Ed yawned as he walked next to me, stretching his arms. He was trying to analyze me further, but he didn't say a word. He saw a few dogs running around and glared at me. Yeah, they were large dogs that looked like miniature bears, but I don't know what his problem with dogs was.

I was soon able to point to the town, very spacious and people outside working. Most didn't stop to even notice us. A few did however. They say my face and groaned, going back to work.

The house of our destination finally came into sight, "Here we are," I point to the building where my mechanic, Trevor, lives and works. It was a large house with a storefront. "He lives with his father. He should be in his room, if not gathering parts,"

"Does he have a name?" Winry asked.

"Trevor." I mumble as all four of us walk in. The store was neatly organized by shelves of parts everywhere in jars, boxes, containers, all labeled alphabetically. The shelves were only three or so feet high, and had stuff displayed on top. Towards the back on the left was a counter in the shape of an L right before a long hallway parallel to the side walls. On the right side there was a staircase that led up to a balcony above where a hallway lie rest that could overlook the store. There were 4 doors, one one each end of the hallway and two on the center, both leading to Trevor's workshop and study. Back at the foot of the staircase just to the left of it was a table and chairs, cluttered with random objects and boxes. It was typical. The table was hardly ever clear.

As I glanced back to the counter, I noticed Trevor's father, a girl, and her dog were there having a debate over something. That was just as mundane and typical as it ever gets.

"Hey, I'm back," I wave, putting my suitcase down and giving a small smile to match my light voice.

"Excuse me fore a second," Trevor's father told the girl as he walked out from behind the counter to greet me, "Eclair! It's been a long time now hasn't it? Nearly a year! And you've came here without a missing arm or damaged leg! How've you been fairing?" We embrace for a few seconds since we both knew how rarely I ever came back to this place.

Winry drops her bag as it clanks really obnoxiously loud on the floor, "aww you two are so cute together!"

I roll my eyes, "you didn't break anything in there, did you?" I let go of Trevor's father as the girl now walked over here, holding her dog. Her dog was missing its front right leg. The poor thing.

"Nope! Not at all!" Winry smiled, "it's all just the miscellaneous parts to fix stuff anyway."

The girl with the dog now looked at me, "you look familiar, do I know you from somewhere?" She tilted her head, trying to remember. I didn't recognize her from anywhere.

I shook my head, "I don't recognize you. I'm Eclair though, Eclair Elanie, the Halfmetal Alchemist." I extended my hand to shake hers.

We shook hands as she remembered, "Ah I remember now, you're the one who caught with the Fullmetal Alchemist! Wait, is that you?" She peered at Al.
