Eclair
I don't know how I did it, but somehow I fell asleep that night. Major Hughes acted as if he were my father, talking to me, and calming. I don't know why he was like that. Wasn't he over-obsessive of his own daughter?
The bright sunshine of the new day danced across my face, while I had mummered wishing how I'd love for it to be raining. Everything soon flooded back to me, everything of the past events. Things from years back. Everything. It hurt. So much lies. How could one possibly uncover the truth beneath this? And what happens when the 'truth' is a lie? Is there any 'truth' at all, or is it all one big 'lie'?
I looked at my metal hand again, making a fist. I slid the strap of my cami I wore to sleep in up to where it should lie. Sitting up, I fixed my short shorts I wore, and yawned. This day was only going to go down from here. So I might as well enjoy it before it does.
"Eclair, are you up?" Major Hughes knocked on the closed door. I slipped on my over coat, pocketing my silver watch, the only thing I knew was true about me, and I could have pride in: Being a state alchemist. This was the only thing I could believe in now.
"Yeah. I am." I say. I button my long overcoat and stand up, opening the door. Behind Major Hughes was the further and Ed.
"Hi...." I say lowly. Ed was here, but the further was in front of him. For just a second I wished I could teleport past him, but I knew my job was to be Strong and brave.
Behind Ed was Kernel Mustang and lieutenant Hawkeye. They had a fearful look in their eye, yet they seemed to know whatever was to happen was right.
"What's going on...?" I asked. I was rather unsure, closing the door behind me, showing them I wasn't going to run or hide.
"Do you wish to be a human?" The Further asked. I nodded with all the courage I had, not acting scared, or anything. Who was I to have feelings towards anyone or anything?
"You may lose all ability to use alchemy-"
"I won't. I did it. Human transmutation. I will still be able to use alchemy as long as I don't mess with the truth myself." The Further stared me up and down, before continuing.
"This may or may not work. It depends if your soul leans more human than humancoli. If it doesn't work, you die. Are you willing to put your life on the line for that, Miss. Eclair Elanie?"
"Yes Sir." I nod, looking Edward in the eyes. He seems pleased with my sacrifice, yet scared for me. I noticed by quickly glancing out a window out to the road, the others awaited looking mournfully up at me. I didn't know what to say. This was a hard, yet simple yes or no decision.
The further came up to me, and touched my where my heart was. My skin moved out of the way to revile a red stone--the phlorsipher's stone. I couldn't grab it. My eye's widened, as I felt fear and shock ride up my spine.
I lost control, as my limbs fell weak, and I came crashing to the ground unconscious.
