My eyes searched all over the place to look for Pau while James stood up beside me.
“Bes!”
I looked where did the voice came from and when I saw her with Rico standing side by side in the corner of the timezone, we walked over.
I pulled Pauline into a hug as soon as we stopped and let go of each other after a couple of seconds with a warm smile on our face.
“Hey,” Rico greeted and I just gave him a nod. Tumingin siya sa likod ko and his forehead twisted.
The four of us stood up awkwardly, no one wanted to talk. I don't have the guts to speak anyway so I stayed silent. Someone has to break the ice.
“Uhm.. by the way, this is James, James this is Rico, my boyfriend,” Pau finally said after what seems like forever.
James held up his hand for a handshake but Rico wasn't going to take it, instead he pulled James for a man hug and tapped him on the shoulders a few times.
What was that for? Is that really how guys acknowledge each other? I mean, they're not that close. Okay, I guess I was just assuming things.

“Go Kath! Just once,” Pauline pleaded as she clasped her hands together.
Talagang hindi niya ako pipigilan hangga't hindi niya nakukuha ang gusto niya. Pero nung si James yung kinumbinsi nila, he told them 'no' and thats it.
“Hell, no.” I shook my head. I glanced at James, he was smiling quietly while picking chips.
Nasa isang maliit na videoke room kami. Magkatabing umupo sina Pau at Rico habang nasa pang isang upuan ako at ganun din si James. We were facing each other with a small table between us.
“Hey guys look! Convince her,” she told them, whining.
“Sige na Kath, isang kantahan lang. Just pick a song symbolizing how you feel,” Rico coaxed.
How I feel? I don't even know what exactly I am feeling. I couldn't tell.
But an idea came up in my mind.
“Okay fine, but James will sing first.”
The three of us snapped to look at James who was already staring back.
It's like he already expected that.
He shrugged. “Go.”
Hindi ko alam kung sinasadya ba niya pero parang ganun na nga. He chose that song like the one he said to me an hour ago. Geez. Masyado na ata akong nagiging assuming.
