“I think you already know the answer,” I said while staring at the remaining space of the living room behind his back.

“I don't, so you tell me.”

“Whatever it is in your head, is also my answer. It's obvious,” I sarcastically remarked.

My irritation earlier was really getting the best out of me and I took it out on him when I shouldn't be.

“I want to hear your answer for this matter, please,” Daniel begged desperately.

My heart leaped the moment his eyes met mine. He looked so vulnerable.

“I don't blame you for being mad at me, but I think you should really hear me out. It isn't fair,” Daniel spoke for himself.

“Everything in this world was never fair!” I scoffed and waved my hand in the air.

“Your anger towards the world doesn't have to do something in our relationship.” His tone was deep with any hint of annoyance.

Wala akong naisip na sagot kaya tumahimik ako. Akala ko ay tapos na ang issues ko sa aking sarili at sa pamilya ko pero hindi pa pala. It was still there, it never ceased.

“We can just forget about all of this and start something new. You know I would never hurt you.”

“I do, but..”

“What happened?”

I just figured out you and mom lied to me. You two kept a secret when I expected honesty from you. Pakiramdam ko ay bumabalik ako sa dating ako, yung walang tiwala sa mga tao sa paligid niya. Na para bang lahat ay tinatalikuran siya. Unti-unting namumuo ang mga luha sa gilid ng mata ko.

“I'm really exhausted, that's all,” I lied.

“Tell me, what's wrong?” Daniel coaxed.

Lalapit sana siya sakin pero umiling ako at umatras. Something's wrong with me. I need to fix this, fix my self..alone.

“Just...” I didn't want to hurt his feelings as much as I wanted to be alone. “go please,” I whispered.

Napasabunot si Daniel sa kanyang buhok. Ayoko siyang tignan sa mga mata kaya tumingin ako sa paa niya.

“Look.. I'm trying, okay? You can't just say things like that to me Kath. I hurt you and I was sorry. You can always talk to me whatever it is and you know that. I'm your boyfriend for Pete's sake!” Tumaas ang kanyang boses. Pero hindi pa din ako gumagalaw. Because I knew he was right, he's always right.

“And now you don't want to speak. This is your problem. This is where our problem begins,” he pointed out.

“You're right!” I raised my voice. “This is my problem so back off,” I huffed.

Tumalikod siya at hinimas ang kanyang sentido gamit ang dalawang kamay.

“We will never work as I have assumed we would,” I said. The words sent shivers down my spine.

Bigla siyang napatigil sa kung ano mang ginagawa niya.

“So that's it? You're just going to damp me like some trash because of one stupid mistake? Is that how it ends, Kath?” Disappointment was evident in Daniel's face when he turned to look at me. I was looking for any hint of hatred but there's none. He's good, too good.

“I supposed.”

“I can't do this anymore,” umiiling na sabi ni Daniel. “You're too unreasonable.”
