Chapter 31

Kasalukuyang naglalaro si Angela kasama ang ibang bata na nakilala niya sa playground nang lumapit sa akin si Daniel at umupo sa tabi ko sa isa sa mga bench dito sa park.

"Bakit mo ako sinama dito?" I asked suddenly.

"Si Angela."

"What about her?"

"Alam mo makikita kita sa kanya," sagot ni Daniel. "Nung nalaman ko ang storya niya at kung paano siya makisalamuha sa ibang tao."

"Gusto ko lang iparamdam sa kanya na maraming nagmamahal sa kanya despite of her situation. I wanted to make her realized that even if she feel unloved by the people surrounds her, there's still one person left in the world that cares for her."

Nakatingin lang kami pareho kay Angela habang masayang nakikipaglaro nang bigla itopng lumingon sa amin ni Daniel at ngumiti.

"Ngayon alam ko na kung bakit mula nung iniwan kami ni Dad nag-iba ang ugali ko, maybe because I was just deeply hurt and sad," I said quietly. "Tama ka.Almost the same kami ni Angela."

"Almost dahil ang pinagkaiba lang, she was raised without a parent. Mas doble ata yung sakit," I added. "And she has no one to blame while I had my Mom."

"At napuno ng galit ang puso mo kaya pati ang mga tao sa paligid mo ay tinataboy mo palayo," Daniel continued. 

I knew he would say that.

Biglang may kung anong mainit na tubig ang tumulo sa pisngi ko. Agad ko naman itong pinunsasan gamit ang palad ko.

"But now I realized, I was wrong."

"Actually, that's also the reason why I wanted to bring you here. And why I came into your life, Kath."

"What do you mean?"

I want to say sorry." This time, he looked at me with an apologetic face.  "I'm sorry kung may nasabi akong mga masasakit na salita sayo before just because I lost my temper. I'm sorry being a jerk and cold lately, I have my reasons. Actually, before the party, I already told them of what I am planning to do."

So they lied to me? Mom lied to me?

"I'm sorry if your Mom had to lie with you."

I sighed.

"You did nothing wrong Daniel. It's all my fault. You were put up into this fixed marriage because of my Mom with whatever reason she has," I said in surrender. "I knew it all started because of me."

"Naiintindihan ko naman kung bakit ganun ka. It's just that I realized we have to stop this or else we'll end up hating each other."

"Are you saying goodbye?" I asked him directly.

"What if I am, will you be happy then?"

I was taken-aback. I wanted to say maybe  I won't  or It would be boring.

But, "I don't know."

He smiled suddenly but his eyes weren't glowing.

"Of course you would. I'm actually happy that you are slowly getting there Kath. I see that you carefully opened the door you once closed."

"Tss! Mag-aaral ka pa din diba? sa school natin?"

"Bakit? mamimiss mo ba ako?"

"ASa. Of course not! Siguro yung mga jokes mo."
