"I couldn't stop her."
Catching those words, Buffy quirked a curious brow before slamming her foot up, violently kicking open the double doors to Damon and Stefan's penthouse apartment.
Pushing through the house, she made her way toward where she could hear Bonnie, turning the hall, Buffy tilted her head as she spotted the Mystic Falls gang standing around the living room.
All except Jeremy, who she knew was with Willow who had been helping him with his biology homework.
As her eyes landed on Stefan and Damon, without hesitation Buffy raised the crossbow in her hands, firing a shot at both brothers. Pinning them to the wall on the opposite side of the room. Both brothers groaned in pain before turning to see who had attacked them, only for the two of them to freeze as they spotted those furious green eyes glaring back at them.
Buffy merely glared at them "Couldn't stop me from what?" She hissed as she stepped into the room drawing everyone's attention.
Not once did she lower her weapon.
One wrong move from either brother and she would kill them. Plain and simple.
Elena gulped at the furious look on Buffy's face, her eyes widening in panic. This was bad, how in the hell were they supposed to explain this?
"Buffy, I can explain—"
"No need." Buffy said, not even glancing at her cousin "Vampires are manipulative Elena, and my guess is that this type is just as bad."
With that, she tossed her crossbow onto the ground before reaching into her jacket and pulling out her favorite stake.
Intent on ending the Salvatore brothers for good."So which one of you wants to say your last words first?" She sassed as she began walking toward them, twisting the stake playfully "You know I'm not a big fan of vampires who play human to get close to me."
"Buffy, please..." Stefan tried but Buffy merely grabbed onto the arrow pinning him to the wall and twisted it sharply causing him to cry out in agony.
He was having very strong flashbacks to the last time she had shot him. It had been right after she figured it out the first time and the exchange had left him with a broken neck and tied to a chair.
Stefan had a very strong feeling that Buffy would not bother with that this time around.
"Sorry, did that hurt?" Buffy questioned with a smirk as she tapped the arrow once more, purposely shoving it deeper into his flesh.
She didn't care what these memories were, all she knew was that the two of them were monsters and from the things she had seen, they had done nothing but cause death and destruction.
"Look I don't care what happened between us that year. From what I've seen you are both killers. You're dangerous and you always seem to put me and my cousins in danger."
Bonnie's eyes widened slightly from her place beside Elena, clearly, whatever visions Buffy had been given, it had been the worst of the worst "What exactly do you remember?"
Buffy couldn't help but clench her jaw at the question.
She didn't remember anything.
That hadn't been her life, her life was in Sunnydale she knew that for sure. Whatever these visions were, they couldn't be her own.
"I don't remember, but I've seen things, they don't feel like my memories but they do at the same time."
"What did you see?" Stefan asked, his eyes filling with a tiny amount of hope that maybe she was remembering their time together.
However, unluckily for her vampire ex-boyfriend, she hadn't.
All she knew were the worst parts.
So instead of answering him Buffy turned and glared at Damon "I remember visions of meeting you both. It all takes an interesting turn after that though. You attacking me, threatening me. Hurting Caroline." She hissed causing Damon to wince.
"Not some of my best moments." He admitted.
Buffy punched him in the face."Buffy!" Elena exclaimed in shock.
Buffy ignored her and continued to glare at Damon "I remember you shoving blood down my throat after stabbing me in the back and threatening to turn me."
Knowing that things were about to go sideways, Bonnie quickly intervened, trying to calm things down before someone ended up getting killed.
Probably Damon, if he started being snarky and cracking jokes.
"Buffy the spell you did, it didn't fix you. It only showed the darker memories."
Buffy clenched her jaw tightly as she faced Bonnie. She hated this, she hated that there was a chance these memories of another life were real. This couldn't be happening.
If a year of her life had been changed, then what part of her life now was real or what was nothing but a big lie?
Just how affected was everything in her life due to one year of changed memories?
How different would her life be?
"What like a vampire named Klaus killing Elena and some Fallen Slayer crap?" She snapped before shaking her head and turning back to the boys "Girls go back to my place now. This isn't going to be pretty."
She couldn't start thinking about the what-ifs.
It would drive her crazy!
Before anyone could say anything else, Buffy ran at both the brothers causing the three of them to go crashing through the windows. Flying right off the balcony collapsing to the garden on the bottom level of the complex.
Ignoring the pain vibrating through her body from the fall, Buffy flipped back up to her feet just as both brothers groaned before ripping the arrows out of them.
Struggling to his feet Damon looked over at his brother, an all-knowing look crossing his features "I told you this would happen."
