"So, Mr. Peters, your driver and your team, McFinley Fire, are you going all the way this year?"

"We plan on it, Smokes going to bring some heat this year."

"I see. How is McFinley doing, AKA the Smoke? I heard that the other teams are a little shaky to acceptance."

"Oh, Smokes never cared about the people criticizing. Someone asked Smoke the other day, why they raced. Smoke just responded with an easy, "Everyone gets a certain rush in something. Mines racing." and the interview continued.

"You guys are coming to the race tonight, right?" Jack asked his team as they waited in the lobby to pick up and agent that was returning to the Phoenix.

"Yeah, we finally get to meet the mysterious girl of yours, right?" Madi asked with a smile, elbowing him slightly. Jack blushed only slightly. "She's excited. I know that much."

"She works at the concession stand at races, right?"

Jack replied to Mac with a cheesy smile. "More or less. I met her there while she was working."  Riley smiled at seeing him so lit up just thinking about her. "She's special, huh?"

Jack kicked the ground slightly. "Very. I don't know. I'm over the 'Need a stable for the Fillies' when it comes to her. She's a lot different from all the other girls."
"I cant tell." Mac said sarcastically, but at a brotherly shove stopped.

After promising to meet at the entry gate, they parted ways each in various points of excitement, but all generally enthused at the prospect of Jack in love. Jack went home and called her almost immediately.

"Hey, Grace, you ready for tonight?"

"More than you know, I cant talk long, got to get ready, but what if they don't like me?"

"How can they not?" he asked looking up from his glass of soda in the kitchen of his home. The phone was on speaker as he got ready.

"I don't know. Oh boss man wants me. See you tonight. Gate 11."
"Okay, we'll be there."

"Jack, relax." mac said as he tried to calm the driver down, his knee bouncing.

"Sorry." he mumbled back as they were blocks away from the race track. The loud noise only it could make, rattled ones ear drums, but to some it was as beautiful as a calming stream.

"It's loud." Riley commented after they made their way through the gate, ditching the car in a lot, a street down. "Yeah, it usually is."

Jack shot off a text to Grace, "Hey, were right by the gate."

He got a reply almost immediately. "Okay. I'll be over in a second." His palms were sweating as he could practically see the tension in the air. Riley was shifting and taking in the scene, more than likely never being to one of these. Matty was sticking close to Mac, and Bozer was intent on staring down every cute girl around.

That's when all their attention shot over to a race car cruising towards their general direction. It was red and not overly big, but not close to being small. The tires were fresh and the paint job was beautifully done, a number shining next to the brand. 8. This was McFinley's car.
