Chapter 27 *2025 Update*

"She came here?" Harry exclaimed in disbelief. He didn't expect Hermione to be in the same room as Draco and Alicia. It was already compromising.

"Yes, in the middle of the night. No one saw her. Just me." Draco answered as he handed Harry a warm cup of coffee.

Draco was unsure if he would tell Harry that it had almost turned into a duel inside a hospital room.

To say the least, the events that occurred that early morning almost recreated Hermione's actions in the third year. The tip of her wand dug into his neck, and her eyes filled with fury, except she was alone with him and no Potter or Weasley to talk her out of it. His words had triggered her. That led her to pull her wand out on him, but instead of him whimpering in fear and his back pushed against a stone wall, he stood unmoving and stared her down, challenging her anger. You foul loathsome evil little cockroach. He never expected to hear those words from her again. As inappropriate as it was in the current situation, Draco chuckled. He knew that Hermione Granger was still in there, hiding under the guise of the stoic Jean McLaggen.

Harry looked up to Draco as he was chuckling. "Did she do something?" He questioned, confused by Draco's current amusement.

"Her actions reminded me of how she was years ago, a feisty young witch who isn't afraid to express herself."

"A lot of things happened for her to conceal that part of her." Harry sighed, massaging the bridge of his nose.

"Un-uncle Harry?"

Both men froze. Draco had his back turned, and Harry had his eyes closed.

"Professor?" It was a hoarse voice calling out.

It wasn't just their imagination. Harry opened his eyes, and Draco turned around. Relief washed over them. Alicia was awake and trying to sit up.

"Alicia!" Harry immediately ran to her side. Draco, on the other hand, approached slowly.

"Don't sit up." Harry reprimanded her and slowly guided her back to rest her head on the pillow. "Are you in pain?" He held her hand, comforting her.

"My body feels heavy, and my throat is dry." She answered as she was trying to take in her surroundings. "What happened?" She asked.

"None of that now." He said as he affectionately patted Alicia's head. "We're so glad you're awake."

"I'm going to get the healer." Draco offered, but Harry stopped him.

"I'll get her. I need to owl everyone that she's okay."

With a nod, Harry exited the room, leaving Draco and Alicia. Draco approached one of the tables. He filled a glass with water and placed a straw in it.

"Here. Take small sips." Draco slowly guided the straw to her mouth.

"Thank you," Alicia said softly, her voice still hoarse. "What happened to me?" She asked again.

Draco sighed. The shock in her body must have caused temporary memory loss. He hesitated telling her. He didn't want to recount the harrowing experience she had encountered before she stumbled into the Potions Classroom close to death's door.

"You collapsed when you entered the classroom." He vaguely answered.

Alicia looked at him, confused. She racked her brain, but all she could remember was being in the library studying and then black. What prompted her to go to the Potions Classroom? She remembered the moon illuminating the halls of the dimly lit library, the piles of books and parchment on the table, and the girls calling her for dinner, but she didn't have an appetite, and her paper was close to being completed. She tried to remember, but her head was starting to pound, her heart felt like it was constricting, and her lungs felt like narrow tubes.
