°I REALIZED

"Roseannne, do you want to come with me?" Jungkook asked, stacking the last papers on the table. "I'm going to hit the cafe later, I figured you want to come? I think you also need a break."

"No, thanks," she replied, eyes on her paper with her hands writing on another page. "I'll finish this now, if I don't, everything's going to be hard since they'll just add another set of works. Finals are difficult."

"I'll wait for you," he smiled and sat down on the empty desk beside her.

Jungkook had finished his works earlier because unlike her, he has lots of free times while she is a member of an organization that organizes a lot of things in their school.

"You can go ahead," she said and stopped writing. "Daniel oppa's going to pick me up later, I don't know where are we going though."

"Oppa??" Jungkook look at her with scrunched eyebrows. "You only had six dates and you call him oppa?? You're unbelievable!"

"He is older than me, and you so call him hyeong," she shrugged and went back to writing. "Honestly, why are you getting all worked up? Go and study."

"Yes!" Jungkook stood up, pushing back the chair roughly, surprising her. "That's what exactly I'll do while you go on a date!"

Then he left grabbing his bag on the way and muttering unpleasant words towards the said male. He doesn't get why she rejects her own fiancé and goes on dates with a stranger.

"Doctor my ass," he scoffed when he reached his car, kicking a poor rock. "He can't even save himself if I kill him."

He stopped for a moment when he caught a figure entering the building. He bit his inner cheek in annoyance, seeing the giddy med student with his eye smile and a bouquet of roses.

"Aaahh!!" He screamed and kicked the hood of his car only to howl in pain. "My poor toe! Why am I so annoyed? Seruously."

Daniel didn't lose his smile when he found her alone in the library. It made his heart jump seeing her cutely stick her nose on books, studying fervently.

"Daniel!" She finally glanced up and smiled. "It's still early, are your classes over?"

"Yes," he smiled, approaching her table. "I made sure to have early dismissal so I can see you. I don't want you to be alone, I know your friends already left. And Jungkook, I saw him before I got here."

"I sent him home since I told him you were coming," she smiled, remembering his reaction when he left. "He would've stayed if I didn't make him leave."

"That's nice of him," Daniel smiled, although feeling a little bit insecure of how she smiled while telling him that her friend wanted to stay. "What kind of friend would leave a friend alone, right?"

She nodded and continued writing again as if he weren't there. Truthfully, he was a bit disheartened that she didn't even try to stop studying when he came. He had expected that he would give a little effect on her, even just a little.

"Rosé, do you enjoy our dates?" He asked out of nowhere, putting the flowers down on the table.

She suddenly stopped writing and frowned. "I do," she looked at him. "Is there a problem?"

"No," he chuckled nervously. "I just asked, it was merely a question. I'm sorry for asking."

"You're not the first one to act this way," she said, stopping her work thoroughly and looked at him. "I'm sure you know since Lisa told you already. Are you tired of asking me?"

"That will never happen," he said, suddenly nervous why he asked in the first place. "I know, Lisa told me. But want to be the first one to actually make you say yes."

"That would be nice," she smiled, though doubted his sincerity. "You would be the first to act this way though, wanting my answer. Others would just date me and give up because they've been dating me long enough but I still don't give answers."

"No matter how long it takes," Daniel smiled, taking her hands. "I promise."

Her smile faltered knowing he won't get a chance against her parents. He didn't miss that reaction but chose to ignore it. He didn't earn his courage to ask her for two years, he's not giving up now.

"Thanks for the awesome date," Roseanne smiled happily after getting out of the car. "It's the best one yet."

"Then look forward for the next one," he grinned, giving her her bags "I'll see you in school?"

She nodded. He blushed when she gave him a kiss on the cheek, touching it softly when she disappeared behind the doors of the building.

"I'm never doubting her again," he chuckled, calming his heart down.

Roseanne went inside with a smile on her face, only to be greeted with sleeping Jungkook on the couch. She chuckled before covering him with blanket.

"Sorry for making you go home alone," she whispered, sitting down beside the couch. "Don't worry, I'll treat you next time. But you know, he is really charming."

She stretched her legs down, sighing. There's no way she can continue feeling this way, both of them will just get hurt.

"I can't explain how his smile's so pretty," she said, laughing to herself when she remembered their picture somewhere in her bag. "It just breaks my heart that one day I'll hurt him because we're not for each other."

She smiled, falling on the floor and laid down. "Some things can never be, right?" She asked him, or herself. "That's what happened to Jaehyun, Jungkook. I really really like him a lot and you know how much I endured to stop those feelings?"

She remembered everything way back then. "He was just like Daniel, happy and kind," she said in a low voice. "I rejected Jaehyun. I rejected him. He got a girlfriend after that Jungkook, I told you, remember? And he asked me again not too long ago and you were asking me too, I rejected him. And now why am I giving a chance to Daniel?"

She closed her eyes, wanting to forget everything and hoping this isn't her life.

"I rejected Jaehyun for a reason, I didn't want to hurt him," she said, tears squeezed out of her eyes. "But why can't I do the same? I don't want to hurt Daniel too."

Jungkook opened his eyes when he realized she had fallen asleep already. He heard it all. He did.

"That's why you should only look at me," he whispered, lying down beside her on the floor and covering both of them with blanket. "Why would you let yourself be attached if you're only hurting?"

He brushed the hair on her face and stared at her features, so beautiful.

"That's what I felt when I was fourteen Roseanne," he said, pulling her closer. "We feel the same, but you're dense."
