°I REFUSE TO SEE

"Jungkook!" Roseanne called, jogging towards the pair.

She had felt a little tinge of an unnoticed emotion stir inside her but she just shrugged it off out of unknowingness.

"Hi," he said.

They still weren't really okay but he thinks it's just fair to give her a little bit of recognition for her determination to make it up for him.

"Are you..." she didn't know what to ask, are they coming home together or not? "Do you still have classes after?"

He shook his head. "But I need to accompany Chaeyeon somewhere, why?"

Her smile fell for a second but replaced with a cheery one in an instant even though that feeling was again bothering her.

"You really don't have to, Jungkook," Chaeyeon interrupted. "After all, you'll just be bored shopping with me. Trust me."

"I don't want to go home yet," he said, looking at his wristwatch.

"Okay then," Roseanne smiled, hugging her books tighter. "I'll get going, have fun."

Chaeyeon raised her eyebrow at Jungkook once the girl left, and shook her head.

"You're harsh," she said.

"I thought you don't like her, why are you taking her side?" He asked instead.

"I am just pointing out how childish you are," she said, looking at him with a disapproving look. "You clearly miss her. I know you're still upset but you don't have to pretend, you're not the only one hurting."

"Since when are you my therapist?" He joked.

She glared at him. "Since you started being a jerk and childishly ignoring someone just to get back at them."

"How would you know?" He suddenly got irritated.

"Oh trust me, Jeon," she scoffed. "I feel it all the time. I'm just here trying to help you before it's too late."

"When did I ask you to meddle with my relationships?" He snapped and turned around to face her.

Chaeyeon was taken aback and lost the annoyed expression on her face. "I thought that's what's friends are for, Jeon," she said. "Unless we're not."

Jungkook's irritated face suddenly replaced with remorse.

"Ah, I get it now," Chaeyeon snickered. "You were only using me."

"No!" Jungkook interrupted. "Stop being like this, what has gotten into you?"

"No, I get it now," she smiled, not really because of happiness. "You needed someone to momentarily fill the space meant for Roseanne, you were just waiting for the right moment. You needed someone to talk to because your friends are also busy with their personal lives, am I right?"

"No you're not," he said. "You're also my friend, I thought we were."

"Don't pull that shit against me," she said. She pinched the bridge of her nose, trying to breathe calmly. "I feel so pathetic right now."

"Sorry," he said, grabbing her hand but she only stepped backwards. "Chaeyeon..."

"I may be a bitch but I still have feelings," she said shakily. "I'm such a fool for believing we're friends. Maybe that's because Rosé left you, you're using people for your own happiness. I don't even know why she's trying to ask for your forgiveness."

"Hey, you don't know anything!"

"Ha, no I don't because we weren't friends remember?" She smiled fakely. "I regret everything, I regret that I even had an ounce of feelings towards you. I regret it all."

She likes him?

Now he's screwed. He just made everything worst and even lost a friend. Or did he even consider her as a friend?

"Chaeyeon!" He ran after her but slammed the doors in his face. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean it that way, you have to believe me."

But the car sped fast without any hint of stopping.

"I hope we can go out sometimes," Jaehyun said. "I mean as friends, like eating together. I didn't mean anything else."

"That sounds great," Roseanne smiled. "I'd love to catch up with you although I need to be careful because Jungkook might misunderstand."

"So it's Jungkook," Jaehyun said. "It wasn't hard to figure out really."

She went silent when she realized she slipped.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone," Jaehyun laughed, seeing her caught in headlights. "I'm your friend, you can trust me."

"Thanks Jaehyun," she smiled.

Their chat was cut short when they found an expressionless Jungkook by the door.

"Jungkook?" She said. She muttered a thanks to Jaehyun before running towards him. "Did you forgot your keys? I'm sorry for taking so long..."

"I thought you we're going home," he looked at her intensely as she felt scared all of a sudden.

"I-I didn't say I was going home," she said in a whisper, looking down as if she did something wrong.

"What??" He furrowed his eyebrows. "Speak up for goodness' sake! I'm not an elephant to hear what you're whispering about!"

"Hey bro, she was with me," Jaehyun intervened seeing Roseanne closing her eyes when he raised his voice. "She went to go eat so I accompanied her when I found her walking alone."

"Why didn't you say so?" Jungkook turned to her.

"She didn't want to come between you and and Chaeyeon since you have plans," Jaehyun answered.

"Shut up, I didn't ask you," Jungkook glowered at him.

Jaehyun wanted to snap at him but Roseanne shook her head and stopped him.

"You were going out to accompany Chaeyeon so I didn't bother," she said. "I'm sorry."

He whipped his head towards Jaehyun who looked scared for a second before glaring at him after seeing Roseanne's face.

"Why are you hanging put with her?" Jungkook asked him making Roseanne's head shot up. "Aren't you aware that she has a boyfriend and a fiancé?? Aren't you disgusted by it? Don't you have a little bit of remorse in you??"

Roseanne gaped at him, eyes stinging in pain.

"I need to clear my head for a second, I can't stand this," he said sharply and walked away.

"Wait, Jungkook!" Roseanne caught up with him. "Where are you going?"

"I'm going out with Chaeyeon, why?" He smirked. "Am I not allowed to go out with somebody else when you're going out with two other guys??"

"What?" She widened her eyes.

"I can't believe I'm engaged to a slut," he snapped and hurriedly walked away, leaving her.

Did he just call her a... slut? Is that what he sees her as now? It felt like pain has doubled in every ounce it have, it felt like fire eating her alive.

"Doesn't he know you're not going out with Daniel anymore?" Jaehyun asked.

He quickly hugged her when he saw her crying and patted her back in comfort.

"I'm tired Jaehyun," she whispered then everything went dark.
