19: Promising Mother

I don't know if Smoke decided on coming or not, but I planned on going out anyway so I figured that this is a perfect time for a first date. As I slip on a white shirt with a black controller printed on the front, I put my phone in a back pocket of my grey and white cargo pants and put a blue, denim jacket on as I make my way to the living room. My mom's really excited, every time Smoke came to get me for school, she was out, working as a doctor, usually only getting home late afternoon so she never really had a chance to meet Smoke.

She was a white fox with black around her eyes, her lower arms and legs and on the tip of her ears and tail.

"So, when's he supposed to be here?" my mom asks, extremely excited

"calm down mom, you make it sound like I'm getting married" I say, chuckling a little before adding "he'll be here any minute if he's decided to come at all". Mom looked at me a little confused

"why wouldn't he? From what you tell me, he would love to come and see you, you're probably the best thing to ever happen to him" she says, making me feel a little touched. The doorbell rings and I immediately get up and run to the door with my mother right behind me, almost bouncing with excitement. I open the door to see Smoke standing right on the other side, paws in his pockets, I immediately jump into himand give a massive hug.

"Ow, please be gentle, Sandra already crushed my spine and internal organs" he says, gently wraping his arms around me. I giggle a little and loosen up

"sorry Smokey" I say before giving him a kiss him on the cheek. I move to see mom standing at the door way, eagerly waiting to meet the wolf

"Mom, this is Smoke" I say as I move to his side, clinging to his arm.

"I gathered that" she laughs before walking up to Smoke and examining him "I heard a lot about you, Cloudy didn't exactly go into specifics but she says that you haven't had the best life" she says, I look to Smoke to see that his smile had turned into a straight face. "I just want you to know that as long as she is with you, you won't be alone anymore, just please don't push her away" she says to him. I look at both of them, Smoke merely gives a small nod and brings back his smile

"I promise, I will not do anything to hurt her" he says sincerely, I just smile and rest my head on his shoulder.

Mom gives a nod of acceptance

"thank you, I'll be holding you to that" she says with a smile. She turns to the door and stands in the doorway before turning back, "you two have fun, and Cloudy" mom says, grabbing my attention, "make sure you have everything and I expect you to tell me what you both get up to later tonight" she says, keeping her golden smile. We begin to walk off and catch a bus down to the mall, thus starting our date.
