Smoke
Cloudy and I find a place of our own, only a couple of streets away from her mother and Sandra. Everyone continued to visit the 4 of us over time, mainly because of Alex and Alisa. Cloudy looked after the twins while I went off to work with Sandra, getting us just enough money to scrape by in the way of food and other needs. Things were peaceful for us, Sandra and Cloudy's mum help us out a little by paying the bills and rent from time to time when we're low on money.
3rd of July, 2017
I sit down on the floor and play with Alex and Alisa. I start tickling Alisa before noticing that I've lost Alex, I begin to panic a little until I feel some tingling and tugging on my tail. I look back and see Alex playing with my tail, I interrupt his playtime by picking him up and placing him in front of me, right next to Alisa.
"Your both adorable, I hope you both know that" I say before cuddling up to them. After about 3 more minutes of playing, a knock comes from the front door.
"I'll get it!" I yell out to Cloudy as I spring up and make my way to the door.
I open the door to see a red heeler standing on the other side
"umm, can I help you?" I ask, voicing confusion
"huh, well, I don't really need to ask this because I can tell just by looking at you, but are you Smoke Greypaw?" he asks before receiving a nod.
"Well, my name is Albert Siris and, well ... I'm an old friend of you mother and father's" he says before I slam the door in his face. He knocks again, trying to finish what he was trying to say
"not interested!" I yell through the door as the very mention of my mum and dad's existence annoyed me.
"I just want to fulfil your father's last wish!" I hear from the other side of the door before hearing a continuation "I'm not going to leave till I do this!". Cloudy walks up to inspect the commotion, seeing me holding the door closed.
"what's going on" she asks
"Smoke, I really MUST speak to you, that's all, you just have to listen then I'll be on my way!" Albert yells through the door.
I open the door to face the dog once more
"what makes you think I want to hear anything you have to say about them?!" I aggressively ask before Cloudy places her paw on my shoulder.
"Smoke, lets at least hear what he has to say, we both know it's the only thing that'll make him leave" she says, convincing me to allow the heeler into the house. Albert walks through the door way and navigates his way to the lounge room.
Albert sits down in a chair before pulling an envelope out of a pocket of his jacket, an envelope marked with my name on it. I sit on a sofa next to his chair and Cloudy sits next to me with both twins before handing me one and getting comfortable.
"You have a beautiful family ... you really do" Albert says making me roll my eyes before responding
"say what you need to say and get out" I snap.
Albert looks at the letter for a moment before handing it over to me
"your father wasn't always the man you saw ... the man you feared" he explains as I take the envelope and examine it
