Cloudy
We sit down in the food court, sharing a box of fries.
"Well, what a date, am I right?" Smoke says, his eyes glowing with happiness, I really love going out with him like this
"yeah, I'm loving it so far, still love you more though" I say before kissing him. We break the kiss a moment after and something shoots through my head.
"Hey, umm, Smoke?" I gain his attention before shifting my view to the ground, he looks dumbstruck as a few fries hanging out of his mouth
"hmm?" I look back up at him
"I, umm ... I was just wondering ... Nah, on second thought, never mind" I say, shaking my head. He swallows his mouthful of fried potatoes and puts his paw on my shoulder
"hey, c'mon, if you have something on your mind, go ahead and ask, I won't take it the wrong way, I promise" He reassures me as he pulling up his half of the necklace "we're connected, right?" he adds, making me smile. I blush a little before clearing my throat
"well umm... I was just wondering, we've been together for a while now and we are legally allowed to do, umm ... that ... so I was wondering something" I nervously speak.
Smoke nods as I finish
"tonight?" He asks
"that's uh, not what I wanted to ask, to be honest ... I'm still a little scared to try it but I'm saying if we ever do decide to ... Well ... I wanna know ... how would you feel about kids?" I ask, I almost glow bright pink and Smoke gives a blank look "I mean, would you even want any?" I ask, trying to be a little more clear. We sit in silence for a moment
"well, I guess I would like one or two, what about you?" He nervously confesses before asking. I think for a moment
"if I got a girl, I like to name her Alisa" I say as I grab a fry and throw it in my mouth, trying to cover my smile that gets brought on by a warm and fuzzy feeling.
Smoke sits and thinks for a few moments
"if I had a boy, I'd like to name him Alex" he says smiling
"why Alex?" I ask, confused, he eats a handful of fries and then looks to me after clearing his mouth
"why Alisa?" He asks, countering my question before answering
"I like the name Alex, don't know why, just like the sound I guess" he says. I smile
"I'd choose Alisa because it was my grandmother's name, she was there when dad passed so I want to honour her memory in some way" I say feeling saddened y the memory of her passing. Smoke gets up and walks around the table to me, he kneels down and wraps me in a hug
"well, you never know, maybe we can have both" he says with a warm and compassionate smile, making me smile again before giving a not and continuing to eat our lunch.
Smoke stands back up and grabs the empty box
"I think we should walk home, give us more chance to talk about this stuff and it will be much more eventful and scenic" he says before going over to a trash can and throwing the rubbish in. Smoke walks back and we both begin to walk towards the exit of the mall. Along the way out, a small cat runs out in front of us, calling out for his mother until he trips, thus making him begin to cry.
I kneel down the help the boy and Smoke stands back and watches
"oh, are you ok?" I gently ask, the boy looks up at me as I wipe away his tears "it's ok, it's ok, we will help you find your mommy" I say giving a small smile and picking him up to his feet, gently taking his paw and walking around the entrance of the mall. The three of us walk around until a woman runs up
"Damian!" She yells as she picks up the black and White tabby "I told you to not go walking off again" she says before turning and looking at me and Smoke "thank you for finding him" she says with a smile of relief. I give a friendly nod
"it's ok, didn't want him to go and get lost" I say before she thanks us again and walks off with him in her arms
"bye nice fox lady" he says as he gets carried away.
Smoke walks up beside me as I watch the pair leave
"you know, you could probably be a good mother" he says. I just kiss him on the cheek before we start walking again. What Smoke said runs through my head and it makes me smile
and maybe you'll be a great father, Wolfy.
