Weekend.

Usually, her weekends are full of never ending house chores. She has her full weekdays alotted for work, and has only two days left for household chores. But not this time though. After the accident, she had not come back to work for four weeks in a row. The first week she spent for recovering, the next three weeks seemed like boring. She has all the time in the world, and it's overflowing.

Let's take time to look at their house first. It is a semi-bungalow-  semi-two storey house. I said so because, it is bungalow house, with an attic. That became the bedroom. And yes. For the three of them.

It is a property Maymay worked so hard to own. It was their father's dream. It was just so sad, he wasn't able to see that that old dream was finally realized. It wasn't a big house. But it is what you can call a HOME.

She bought the land. The landowner was so kind enough to let her pay in installment basis.

They painted the walls powder blue. Inside and out. She put on white curtains on the wide windows. She always wanted a house that looks bright and happy. Something that makes you happy just by looking at it.

There are two wide windows downstairs, and other two small windows in the attic. . The window panes are wide enough to be sit upon. She requested it to be that way. She had a custom made upholestered cushion that fits the window panes, those became their sofas. Their house is too small to afford space-consuming sofas.

They only have four electric appliances. A small refrigerator. An electric fan. A washing machine. And an iron press.

Above the refrigerator there are three bottles. Weekly, Maymay put aside money in them. The first one - for electric and water bill. The next one - for the cooking gas. And third, miscellaneous. She did so, so she could easily pay the bills, on time. On the back of the door, she made an improvised envelope. Maymay puts money in them weekly too. One is Inah's allowance. The other one is Jeff's.

So Maymay just finished doing her laundry,  it was already past 4. She was alone,  for Inah had school on Saturdays. And Jeff NEVER stayed at home on daytime at weekends.

So Maymay sit perfectly at the window pane. Sipping her afternoon coffee. She just finished her laundry. Not HER laundry. She made it a rule that one should do her/his own laundry. But since she had lots of time now, she took care of the laundry of the two.

She's already starting to worry because her savings is slowly but surely fading. And, thankfully, she received a text message that she can come to work this monday. Another tv series project has just started. She couldn't be thankful enough.
So she sipped her coffee,  mindfully, like its the best coffee in the world.
And as her eyes looked around. She caught sight of him.

Wait. Him???

There was a car parked in front of their house. And what's more, it was Edward Barber standing right there, leaning at his car,  and looking at their very house.

She immediately hide from his sight and leaned at the wall. Almost spilling her coffee.

Anong nagawa ko? Hala ipapakulong niya ba ako? Anong nagawa ko? Wala akong ginawa!

Ok Marydale. Bago ka magpanic jan, bakit di mo muna labasin yung tao?

Hindi siya un!  Bkit naman siya pupunta dito?

Ok, hindi siya yun,  ok?

Maymay slowly peek again behind the curtains. She had to make sure it really wasn't the Edward Barber she is fearing to see.

And this time, their eyes met.

It was no other than him.
