Between the Bars- The Civil Wars
"You alright, Teddy?" April rested a hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah, babe, you look like you've seen a ghost," Cass put a hand on my forehead, presumably checking my temperature. "You feeling okay?"
"You...." I looked to April. "And Ari...."
"Is there something wrong with me kissing her?"
"Sorry," I cleared my throat. "I just didn't know. I was caught off guard."
"You didn't know?" They said in unison.
"Apparently not. So, are you dating or...?"
"We're honestly not sure what it is at this point. It just kind of happened. We've just been...figuring it out."
"How long?"
"A month or so," she laughed. "You seriously didn't notice?"
"I've been told I'm not very observant."
"Why would anyone think that?" She kissed my cheek. "I'll see you two at dinner." And she followed Ari upstairs. I turned to my boyfriend, crossing my arms over my chest.
"What?" He asked, kissing my cheek.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I thought you knew!" He laughed, scooping me up in his arms and carrying me up to our room bridal-style and plopping me down on the bed. "Are you upset by it?"
"No! Of course not. I just wish I knew."
"Don't worry about it, love." He peppered kisses over every inch of exposed skin.
"I just-."
"Teddy, I'm trying to show you affection here. The least you could do is give me a little attention," he managed to smirk and pout simultaneously. I don't even know how that's possible. I rolled my eyes and pulled his lips down to mine.
"I'm in the mood for a bath," he groaned and moved off of me. "Want to join?" His eyes lit up. I laughed. "Nothing sexual."
"Do you think that's all I ever think about?" He kissed my cheek, pulling me to the bathroom after grabbing some fresh clothes for us to change into.
"Sometimes," I mocked, locking the door behind us. I nearly fell asleep in the bath. I couldn't help it. It was warm and his skin was soft and I was so relaxed.
"Come on. Let's get you to bed," he got us out and dressed.
"I'm not," I yawned. "I'm not tired."
"Convincing," he chuckled. "I'll wake you up before dinner."
"Are you going to stay with me?" I climbed under the covers, cocooning myself in.
"Of course," he leaned down and kissed my forehead. I made room for him under the blankets, and we both fell asleep. We missed dinner.
