Chapter 24

Khun's POV

"Urek-"
"Yeah, I know. I'll crush that round head of his before he can even lift up one finger," Urek exclaimed with a happy grin, as if he was going to enjoy this.
"Urek Mazino...do not think I will be as weak as before. I have gotten stronger than before," Karaka said.
"Then instead of using one of my fingers, how about two? Honestly, your power doesn't seem much different from last time."
"You! I am not so low as to be defeated by just two of your tiny fingers. You will feel the wrath of Karaka-"
"Hey, you guys, go on ahead. I'll keep this guy busy for a while, it'll be easy. Now that he's talking, I think this'll be your chance to escape," said Urek.
"What?! Do you-"

Urek silenced him with a shot of shinsu and gave us a thumbs up. We nodded and quickly ran past. While running, I used my lighthouse to search for (Y/n)'s location.

Eh?! Why the hell would Rachel hide her in a prison cell?! It even had electrocuted metal bars?! That made my blood boil. I was trying hard to contain my fiery anger. I swear I will kill you, Rachel.

"Khun, which way?" asked Bam.
"To the right."

Once we reached the room, Bam used shinsu to blast the door open. The demon was inside the cell, grinning at us. She had expected us to come.

"Looks like you all came to save (Y/n)," it exclaimed calmly.
"Oi blue turtle, how do you plan to get her out?" Rak asked.
"Have you guys not come up with a plan yet? That's a shame, considering how (Y/n) only has a few hours left."
"Where's Rachel?"
"I don't know, probably somewhere in this building."
"I'm here," Rachel said while hopping down from her lighthouse.

Rak immediately got out his spear and threw it at her, completely ignoring the others' protests and shouts. I didn't stop him, nor do anything to change the direction of the spear.

This may as well be a part of my plan. Rachel would obviously move out of the way to avoid getting injured. I may not know how accurately Rak could throw his spear but it had to go through the thin gaps between the metal bars.

Just like I had predicted, it went through the bars and headed towards the demon. It quickly changed back to (Y/n). The spear pierced her delicate skin as she let out a yell in pain.

"(Y/n)!-"
"No, Bam. Don't go."
"But Khun-"
"Don't go."

I released my grip on his arm as we all watched Rachel smirk in triumph. It was too early for her to be smirking like that, because she would soon lose everything.

"Ah, (Y/n)...you're back. Seeing you in pain is filling me with a feeling of satisfaction. You have no idea how pitiful you look right now," she said while going inside the cage.
"R-Rachel..."

We could only watch as Rachel continued to spit out her words of hatred from her foul mouth. The others looked at me in confusion when I stopped them from interfering. I could deal with their complaints later...they couldn't compare to the pain I was feeling right now because of seeing (Y/n) so badly hurt...

(Y/n)'s POV

"Do you know who injured you? Your 'so-called friends'. They shot the spear at you, hoping to kill you."
"N-no...don't lie to me..."
"(Y/n), you know it's true. They hate you. Haven't you ever wondered why they remained by your side till this very moment? Haven't you ever considered the possibility that they just wanted to see you in pain when they betrayed you?!"
"I..."
"I hate you...I despise you! You monster! You know that the only cause for your loneliness is yourself! And yet, you want to blame some damn villagers?!"

She was right...I could only blame myself. I could feel a sharp pain spreading throughout my entire body. It spread faster, eating at my bones. I held in the screams, wimping slightly.

"You're in pain, right? That's good...you should atone for your sins. You blamed others when it was entirely your fault," Rachel mocked.
"No...I..."
"What did you say? No?"
"No...I'm not the one that has to repent for these sins because you're the one that has committed sins! I will accept the fact that I can only blame myself for how I am now, but I won't atone for someone else's sins!"
"What?!"
"Rachel, you have committed far more sins than anyone else! The fact that you are trying to make me atone for some false accusations is a sin! I won't forgive you for playing with my feelings, for hurting those I care about! So get the hell away from me, you witch!"
"How dare you?! Fine, since that's not enough to make you insane, I guess I'll have to show you this. Your friends shot that spear at you intentionally! Look!"

She pointed to the now broken doors where all my friends stood, watching. They didn't step in nor try to stop Rachel. All they did was watch as I was in pain. Did they...really hate me? N-no, they couldn't have lied to me..

"See? They hate you! They didn't even step in to help!" Rachel yelled.
"...K-Khun...do you hate me...just like she says?..."

He simply looked away from my gaze. Was it true then? Tears slid down my cheeks. I didn't bother to hide the pain I was in. He really didn't care about me...I was a fool for believing everything they told me...they deceived me and I believed them like an idiot.

Ugh! My chest! It felt like someone, or something, was ripping my body open without mercy. I suddenly felt like throwing up, despite all this pain I was in. What was happening to me?...
