LunaIt was the first time I had actually gotten up to walk around in a while. I went over and opened up the curtains and darkness spilled in. The moonlight shone through on parts of my face and I basked in the warmth of the night.
I heard the door click and turned around.
"Sebastian, you scared me." I breathed. My heart beat went to its normal pace again and I looked back out at the night sky that was plastered with stars.
"What are you doing up?" He chuckled.
"What are you doing sneaking into my room?" I fought back, falling into his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and I got that familiar tingle in my stomach. Like when you're falling from a roller coaster, only a thousand times better.
I turned around so that my back was pressed against Sebastian's chest. I could feel his heartbeat and his steady breathing.
"Isn't it pretty tonight?" I asked, looking out of the window again.
"Isn't it always?" He said in a low whisper. He rested his chin on my shoulder and I could feel his hot breath on my neck.
I shuddered under his embrace and turned my neck so that his lips met mine. They were warm and soft, and the sparks that used to be small seemed to be so much more electric and fiery now.
This was different.
I could hear my heartbeat in my ear and feel it thumping inside my chest and he burrowed his face into the crook of my neck. I could still feel the sparks on my lips as he whispered into my ear.
"I love you, more than you'll ever know." He said so quietly, only loud enough for me to hear.
"I love you, too."
Sebastian kissed my cheek and I felt him smile against my skin.
"This is the happiest I've been in such a long time," he said.
"I know. I can say the same." I shook my head, it's almost too good to be true.
"Will you stay with me tonight?" I asked.
"I would, but what happens when your dad or the doctor finds us in the morning?"
"I'll take the blame," I said, "please."
"Okay,"
Sebastian left and went to the cafeteria to grab a small bag of chips and some chocolate milk since I was on a strict diet, just until they get me in the condition I was before I left.
He came back and I scooted over to make room for him. He handed me the food and crawled under the covers after taking his shirt off.
"I love Cheetos," he said. It's been so long since we've had this kind of snack.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I kind of wish I were eating canned soup or hotel bacon or something right now," I sighed.
"I do too. When you get better again we'll take off and get some more hotel bacon," he smiled and chuckled, wrapping an arm around my shoulder.
When I get better again.
We'll take off again.
"Sebastian." I stopped him. His smile faded.
"What?"
"I don't think I'll be taking off any more." I shook my head. He nodded. He understood what I was saying without me having to explain anything. I could see it in his eyes.
'You're too sick to leave' is what he was thinking.
"But maybe, when we go back to New York, I can meet your family. And come over for Thanksgiving dinner. We can do stuff with Adam, and then we can play monopoly with Micah."
His eyes sparkled. "That would be perfect. I think once Adam gets to know you, he'll love you."
"Well, that's good. I don't wanna be the girlfriend the little brother hates."
He scoffed, "I don't think anyone could hate you."
"They could if I killed their whole family." I deadpanned.
"Even then, Bonnie." He joked.
"Fine, Clyde."
a/n: spoiler alert, they change their names to Bonnie and Clyde, rob a bank and kill someone in the next chapter.
