Luna

My body was trying to tell me that my time was coming. I told my body to screw off.

Even though I knew that I would eventually die, I didn't need to be reminded every damn second. It aches and I groan in pain and I'm sore and overtired or I can never sleep and I'm super hungry or never hungry at all. And I look awful. I look like a living corpse. With my pasty skin and my lavender lips.

I thought about these things for a while and then took Sebastian's journal out from under my pillow and started adding to it. I've been doing that lately. Since he stopped writing his thoughts, I started writing my own. Only small tidbits.

Today, Gus, Adam, and Sebastian were all coming for a visit. I was pretty excited, to say the least.

I could feel my body testing me. I could barely sit up. My nausea wanted to be my best friend today.

Sitting up, I grabbed a bucket and held it in my lap, clenching my fists.

I could feel myself begin dry heaving, the downside to not being hungry but still getting nauseous.

I could feel myself getting weaker and weaker every second. I probably lost over ten pounds just laying in this bed.

My throat and stomach screamed in pain and I put the bucket down on the floor, gulping down a glass of water. The cold liquid tasted so much better when I was actually thirsty.

"Hey, kiddo," I smiled at Adam as he came over to hug me.

"Hey."

"Hey, love," Sebastian said, kissing my forehead. I heard Adam gag in the corner and I laughed.

Gus soon entered as well. His blonde hair was getting exponentially longer.

"Hey, Gus!" I smiled.

He smiled as he walked over, leaning in for a hug. "Hey, Luna."

"Adam, how has school been treating you?"

"Good. We get winter break soon. Like next week. I'm glad to get a break, the homework is crazy," he said.

"Oh yeah! I totally forgot Christmas is next week," I laughed.

"I think we all forgot," Gus chuckled. With everyone who was connected to me, their lives were busy enough as it was. So much was going on, I think Christmas just flew past everyone's heads.

"What are your plans for Christmas?" I asked. Since I had to stay here, I wondered what everyone else was doing.

The boys all glanced at each other, nodded and then back at me.

"Well?"

"Well, Luna. We were thinking since you have to be here, we thought we would bring Christmas to you," Sebastian said.

"No! No, you can't. You are having Christmas with your families."

"Yes, we will do that. We will have Christmas with our families, but we're all gonna bring you leftover Christmas dinner and presents," Gus said.

"If you spend any money on me, I'll be so mad."

"Whoops, too late," Sebastian said.

I sighed and looked at all these boys. These amazing, lovely boys.

"Luna it wouldn't be Christmas without you," Adam said.

"I love you guys," I said, shaking my head, pulling my knees up to my chin.

"We love you."

"Come here you goofballs," I said, motioning at them.

They all stood up and came over, wrapping us in a big ball. I hugged them tightly and thought about how lucky I was to have them. How lucky I was to have parents. How lucky I was to have my new friend, Gus, my little brother Adam, and my love, Sebastian.

I was honestly blessed, and nothing, not even death, could change that.
