"Don't you dare fall," I glared at the box in my hand as I cradled it like a newborn baby. I maneuvered my hand to grab the door of the garage. I slowly pushed the door open since I was leaning the box against it to steady it. "So far so good," I sighed making it inside with little trouble. I just made it through the door when my phone started going off. "Hold on! Hold on! Hold on!" I rushed to get to the dinning room table but ended up losing my balance and dropped the box full of paperwork right next to it. "Damn it," I muttered. I threw my purse to the side and began cleaning up the mess. The box was a struggle to pick back up but I was able to relocate it. "Now I'm going to have to reorganize everything."

Working at a high end office normally means I bring my work home with me. Sometimes, I'm lucky enough to bring other people's work home with me, like today. Which means, locked indoors all weekend watching Netflix while stressing over meeting other people's deadlines and praying mines will be met as well.

I took off the heels I had on for today, giving my poor feet a well deserved break, and went to close the door to the garage that I forgot about when I was struggling to get in my home. As per my usual ritual I went to my bedroom, stripped off the work day clothes and got into the shower. Showering. Probably my most favorite thing to do seriously. Shower before bed, shower in the morning, and shower after work. It's a sort of habit I developed since I was younger. Once I was done I wrapped a towel around my body and went into my room for my house clothes. I had walked pass my full body mirror and stopped. I chewed my lip nervously, glanced around a bit as if someone else was here, before dropping the towel. I looked over my body as if it was the first time I was seeing it.

My newly done hair was still as beautiful as ever. I can't go natural like these other black girls. Sorry, that life is not for me. A pretty face I admit. A bit chubby since my youth days. Really large breasts. My most hated place. My stomach. The stretch marks are what I hate the most. My butt was way too big. My feet were nice since I kept my toes done. After scrutinizing more over every detail I felt was a flaw I picked up my towel and resumed getting dressed. I didn't have the time to worry about things like that. I have a ton of work that needs to be done before Monday. Cheers to the weekend.

I heard my phone ringing from where I left it and quickly went to answer. It must've rang for a bit because by the time I got to it the phone was no longer ringing and a text came through instead.

Bestfriend: So we just ignore phone calls now big head? 😒🖕🏾

Me: Sorry! 🤗 I just got home and you know my ritual after work 💁🏾‍♀️

Bestfriend: You're gonna end up showering the black right off ya ass!

Me: 🙄🙄🙄😛😛😛

Bestfriend: Turning up?

Me: Can't. Tons of work. I'll lucky if I get to sleep.

Bestfriend: Stop letting them people punk you like that! They grown and can do their own damn work. Why the hell you always doing their damn job?!

Me: They're not punking me and I'm just lending a hand. I have to get started or I'll be put even more behind. Love you!

Bestfriend: 🙄 love you too negro 🖕🏾

I'm glad I got out of that one fairly easy. Normally I'd get a ten page lecture of why I need to put my foot down to my coworkers and not let them use me. Since he didn't jump down my throat that means he too must not have the time to really dig into me. I have to say I'm thankful for that. Getting lectured is just going to distract me from the mountain of work I have to get done. And with all the papers now mixed up I would have to go through everything to match them up appropriately. Cheers to the weekend.

I glanced out of my living room window and saw a moving truck passing by. My old neighbors were an elderly couple that I just loved. Unfortunately they passed away last summer. It was kind of traumatic walking in and finding them both in bed not breathing that day. Their children didn't visit them too often so I made it my duty to be there for them. The kids got the house but none of them wanted to move so they sold it instead. It had been sitting on the market for over a year until now I guess.

I would go over to greet my new neighbor but this work isn't going to finish itself. Maybe later if I have the time. I looked outside one more time before going back to what my original plan was.

Hey you guys! I want to thank all of you for your votes and support on my other books. I know the launch chapter for Curves is really short and for that I apologize. I would like to apologize in advance if updates for this book are slower than A Hate Love Thing 2. That book is a lot more planned out than this one is unfortunately.

And this update is up a lot sooner than I expected! It's not much but I just wanted to introduce the main character.
