Toni

*

"Finally sheesh," I mumbled finishing up this work. I worked overtime yesterday and still had to bring my work home with me to finish today. I swear those people we work with are useless. They're lucky my ass can't fire them. I have to talk to Mo about them though because I'll be damned if I let these motherfuckers get paid for my damn work.

I pushed away from my desk and walked away cracking my neck. I need food in my life right about now. I was stopped by my phone ringing. I rushed to my room and got it off the bed. It was Monique calling me. "Hey Mo," I said. "Perfect timing. We need to have a meeting with the team because girl I'm tired of cleaning up these people mess."

"Yeah I was thinking about that. We can do it Monday some time. I'm tired of stressing out over meeting everyone's deadlines. That's what I get for being too damn nice."

"Preach," I said. I looked at the time. "You're up early. It's like eight in the morning. Don't you sleep in until like twelve on Saturdays?"

"Yes," she said giggling. "That's what I called you for. I need help."

"With?" I raised my brow as I grabbed a bowl to make pancakes in.

"You see," she chuckled. "I have a date and-"

"Bitch with who?"

"Zy."

"Bitch!" I switched over to where we could Facetime and gave her that Shaq look and the little shoulder shimmy. "So y'all going out out?"

"Really Toni?" She laughed.

"Bitch I'm serious," I laughed. "I didn't even know the little nigga got out."

"Yeah he just got out yesterday. I was so happy to see him and that he was okay."

"I thought we would've had to been them people on Facebook talk about 'free my dog Zy, he ain't did nothing. Hold it down homie.'"

"Girl I can't stand you," she chuckled going into her closet. "Iight help me pick out an outfit."

"Do you know where y'all going?"

"No but he said we were going to be gone all day and I don't know what I should wear."

"Zy knows you best so I'm sure y'all about to go out and have lots of fun. And knowing him he wouldn't care what you wear so go comfortable but cute. Also get a little out of your comfort zone. Let me see your clothes." She switched the camera view and showed me some of the stuff she was thinking about. "Okay I like the black pants with the crop top and where some sneakers so you're comfortable."

"Okay I can live with that. "Zy is going to here in like an hour and you know I take long showers so I have to go. Bye Toni!"

"Bye! Have fun." I was so happy that they were going out. I can tell something between them changed and I was anxious to finally see them together. I can tell the date will be a lot more successful this time around because Mo is actually taking this date seriously. I hear wedding bells already. I was halfway finished with my food when my phone rang. It was my possible new boo. We met on Tinder and have been cooling it for a while. "Hey," I cheesed.

"You missed me that much huh?" he chuckled.

"Boy bye. this happiness is not because of you."

"Damn bae straight like that?"

"Straight like that," I said. "My friend just gave me some really good news and it has me happy that's all."

"Iight gay ass." He loves saying I have a crush on my friends. He's so irksome. "My boy is finally going on a date with this girl he's been in love with for years so I get it. Hope it works out for your friend."

"Same for yours. What you up to today?"

"Nothing much. My mom told me to come to her house and help her move some furniture. What about you?"

"I just finished some work so I might go check on my friend Keisha. She's been MIA for a little while and I'm worried about her. Hopefully she's not busy with her shoots or anything."

"Right right. Well I'm going to let you go so you can go be with ya gay ass friend."

"Fuck you black ass," I rolled my eyes.

"I'm not like that freak ass. I'm saving myself for marriage."

"Bye Malik," I laughed hanging up. After making my food I sat down for a little bit and ate. I was getting this weird feeling crawling up and down my back so I finished quickly before grabbing my shoes and going. Traffic wasn't too bad but it did take me a little minute to get to Keisha's apartment complex.

I parked and got out. Keisha's building was only three stories tall and she lived on the top. That meant my ass had to walk up to get to her. I may be small but on the inside I'm a fat kid. I had to catch my breath before going to her door. I heard music playing which told me she was in there.

"Keisha!" I knocked so she can hear me. I kept knocking but she didn't answer. I was trying to be courteous and give her a chance to come to the door but she's taking too long. I used my key to unlock her door and walked in. "Aye hoe!" I yelled. "I know you heard me knocking! You done being a bitch or what?" I turned that sad ass shit she was listening to off. It's the type of music that'll have you rethinking life. "Keisha! Where you at?" I walked around looking for her. I frowned when I came to her room and saw all the empty liquor bottles. "Keisha?" I was starting to get worried. I walked into the bathroom and saw her lying on the floor with a little pool of blood coming out of her head. "Oh my god! Keisha?!"

I shook her to try and wake her up but she would budge. I dialed 911 with tears in my eyes. What the hell happened to her?

Tell me what you think. Zy and Monique's date up next!
