Ugh! I'm so tired. Today was way longer than it needed to be. After the little temper tantrum Jayden through I went to my team members one last time telling them to pull their weight. They kept coming up with the same bullshit ass excuses I used to fall for but I refused to be pushed around by them. They got mad and flat out refused to do the work so I emailed my hire-ups about getting some workers for my team. I have the authority to fire my team members I'd just rather have a lineup of potential people on file before doing so.
I also don't want them being in the dark about an entire team of employees being let go. I've got their papers all ready for when they get fired. I don't want it to come to this especially since most of them have families but if they won't listen to me then there's no use in keeping them on staff.
"So you're finally gonna fire them useless niggas at your job?" Zy said into the phone. He called me as soon as I got off of work. "About damn time."
"Shut up," I rolled my eyes pulling into my driveway. I thought it would be weird between us after that kiss but it feels the same with us but different. If that makes sense. "I know I should've been done it. Blah blah blah."
"You're right. I don't know why you waited so long."
"Because I didn't want to fire them knowing they got families."
"They knew they got family to take care of. Should've done their work instead of slacking. You gave them a chance after you said you wouldn't and they didn't want to take it so fuck em. It'll be their fault their bills won't get paid."
"You're right," I sighed grabbing my stuff from the backseat. "But I still feel bad. They wouldn't be in this predicament if I was just more forceful in the beginning."
"You're right." I rolled my eyes at him. Asshole. "So-"
"Excuse me!" I glanced over and saw a woman coming to the fence separating me and Jayden's house. I was confused who this white woman was.
"Zy let me call you back."
"Iight."
"Hello!" She smiled at me. "Sorry to bother you sweetheart. My name is Julie and I'm Jayden's mother."
"O-Oh?" I said looking at her crazy. This lady is whiter than a glass of milk in an all white room. How the fuck?
"Adopted mother is what I should say," she laughed like it was funny. "I was just out and about introducing myself to all the neighbors. They all looked at me the same way."
"Oh well...it's nice to meet you. I guess you're visiting him?"
"Yes! He's been begging me to come down for a while but I never had the time before. Are you two close?"
"Not really," I hesitated. "We're colleagues but-"
"Oh you work together?! That's wonderful! Jayden never tells me what work is like. Maybe you can give me some insight on how my little boy is at work."
"Well you see-"
"You must come over for dinner. I want to hear everything." This woman was talking a mile a minute. I couldn't keep up. I kept trying to tell her I wasn't interested but she wouldn't give me an inch. She basically dragged me over and now I was sitting in Jayden's house. I felt so uncomfortable. Whatever she was cooking didn't smell very appetizing. "So do you both typically drive to work? Wouldn't it be easier if you just carpool?"
"No," I said subtly looking around. "We both normally leave at different times and I'm not home all the time."
"Do you spend time with a loved one? Boyfriend or something? Or is it your parents? Did you grow up around here?" Damn this lady nosy as fuck.
"Well both of my parents are dead and I visit my grandmother often. But most of my time is utilized with my goddaughter and best friend."
"Awe that's so sweet. So you don't have a boyfriend?"
"No but I'm seeing someone," I said hoping she wasn't planning on setting me up with Jayden. "We're just testing the waters as of right now."
"Awe that's too bad. You seem like a wonderful young lady with her head on her shoulders. Unlike the little hussy my Jayden got himself involved with over here. Did you hear about the break up he had with his girlfriend?"
"I didn't know he had a girlfriend," I said. If he had a girlfriend then why the hell has he been harassing my nerves? Why the hell did he go and try to sabotage me and Zy's date?
"It wasn't a very long relationship since he's only been here little over a month but by the way he talked about her I knew he cared for her deeply. He was so excited for me to meet her and she ended up betraying him in the worst ways. Apparently she's some loose woman who's nothing more than a slut that's sleeping with the boss's and had been cheating on him with someone throughout the relationship. She even got HIV or something."
I looked at this woman crazy for a number of reasons. One being she came out and told a complete stranger all of her son's business with not a care in the world. Some things should be kept private. But another reason is that this story sounds strangely familiar. I know I haven't read a book about this and I don't believe in coincident. "If you don't mind me asking, what is this girl's name?"
"I don't remember," she said. "He was so upset he didn't really make much sense. I think it was Monica or something. She's a co-worker of his. You may know her."
That little motherfucker! He's been telling his mother lies about us! Just then Jayden came through the door. "I'm home mom," he said. He came into the room and looked at me in confusion. "Monique what are you-?"
"You son of a bitch!" I yelled hopping up. Seeing him really set me off. His mother came running from the kitchen looking confused. "How dare you?! How fucking dare you?! You lying piece of shit!"
"What-"
"I tried being the bigger person and let all that disrespectful shit you said at work. I didn't have the damn energy to deal with your childish ass temper tantrum. I wasn't disrespectful or anything. I simply said I didn't want to deal with you. We went on one date. ONE! The shit wasn't that damn deep but you were acting like a total bitch about the shit. You're spreading fucking lies about the shit for what Jayden?! Huh?! You know I'm the farthest thing from a hoe!"
"What's going on?" his mother said. "Why are you cursing at my son?"
"Because he's a lying piece of shit!" I hollered.
"Don't yell at my mother Monique," he growled. "You're taking this too damn far. She doesn't deserve your ghetto ass to be yelling at her like tha-"
"Fuck you and your pasty fake ass momma!" I yelled. "She needs to know her son ain't nothing but a pussy ass nigga who got hooked off of ONE damn date! I just said I didn't want to continue seeing you and that's it! I don't deserve the lies you're spreading!"
"Wait, you're that hussy aren't you?!" His mother said glaring at me.
"Bitch I'm not a damn hussy," I gritted. "We were NEVER together exclusively. We went on ONE date and that's it! Your bitch of a son got mad I wouldn't continue to date his ass."
"Monique get the fuck out of my house disrespecting my mother," Jayden said taking a step towards me.
"I DARE YOU TO PUT YOUR MOTHERFUCKING HANDS ON ME BITCH!" I said. "You've got the right bitch Jayden! Try me if you want. Keep my name out your pussy ass mouth." I stormed out and hopping in my car. Fuck this shit. I pulled out of my driveway and headed to Zy's place. I needed to get away before I end up doing something that'll land me in jail.
It seems the closer to the end of my books the slower my updates get. 😭😭😭 Don't ask. I have no idea why I'm like this. But there's only about four maybe three chapters left. And to answer your question, yes 😌, there will be a Curves 2 😉😘. I'll have more details on what to expect once we get to the end of the book. Hope you enjoy loves!
