"I can't believe you left us hoe," Toni said into her phone. We were currently having lunch in our office. She was currently on Facetime with Brooke who was in California. "Didn't say bye or anything."

"It was last minute. My bad. I know y'all miss big daddy."

"Bye girl," I waved her off. "Has anyone heard from Keisha?"

"I talked to her yesterday," Toni said. "She said she was busy with a photo shoot this week so we wouldn't hear much from her."

"That sucks," I said.

"Hey how did your dates go Mo?" Brooke asked.

"Yeah. I've been begging you to spill all week," Toni said.

"I was trying to wait until we all had time so I could tell everyone together. But Keisha seems to be too busy so I guess I'll tell her later. So the date with me and Jayden was pretty good. He's really intellectual and the topics we talked about were really appealing. The way he presented himself and his arguments were very sophisticated."

"But?" Toni pressed. "I know there's something else to the date."

"Well...I really do like him. He seems like a really intelligent and sweet guy. He's a bit too narrow-minded and doesn't like to waiver when it comes to his opinions. After the date he kissed me and I felt...nothing. Literally nothing. Not a spark or anything."

"In other words," Brooke said. "You don't have any intimate chemistry whatsoever."

"Basically," I sighed. I felt bad because Jayden was such a good guy. I always used to say I wanted a sophisticated boyfriend that I could have meaningful conversation with but maybe Jayden is too sophisticated.

"Good," Toni said. "Face it Mo, Jayden is not your type at all. The fact that he's even an option is kind of ridiculous. I find intelligent men attractive too but Jayden is a stick in the mud. You need a guy with a little more edge."

"What about your date with Jamel?" Brooke said.

"Well I don't know if it's even really considered a date. He just called me out of the blue and invited me to 'hangout' at his club. He fed me and we talked. I felt a lot more physical chemistry with him and as the night went on I got comfortable with him. But it felt like our conversations always led back to sex in someway shape or form. Other than that and him regularly disappearing on me I think everything went well."

"I knew you two would hit it off," Brooke said.

"Barely," Toni rolled her eyes. "What about Zyshonne? Did you two go on a date yet?"

"Well no," I mumbled. "Whenever we did plan to go out something came up with either work or Cadie. I also end up chickening out at the last minute. Just the idea of us going out on a date freaks me out."

"Mo you promised to give Zyshonne a shot," Toni said.

"I know but it's so weird. We've been nothing but friends for so long. I can't picture us being more than that."

"Can't or won't? Zyshonne is a really good guy Mo and the only one who has your best interest at heart. You had a lot of positive things to say about your other dates but there's a downside to each guy. You may like Jayden as an individual, for god knows what reason, but you're not attracted to him. You're attracted to Jamel but that's merely physical. The guy only wants to get into your pants anyway."

"Remember Toni," Brooke said. "This is Mo's decision. I like Zy as much as the next person but maybe they are better off as friends. Zy has a lot on his plate. He's in school, works full time and is a full time single parent. He's trying to get his life on track as well. He's admitted his feelings so you know he's looking for something serious. I love you Mo, but I don't think you can handle yours and Zyshonne's burdens. You both need someone who's going to push you and together your both very passive."

"If she gets with Jamel all he's going to do is fuck and duck her. Mo you promised to give him a fair shot. He deserves that much. I want you two to be together but I get it if you think it won't work. But you need to make that decision after following through what you said you would do. Stop thinking about it as two friends going out. Think of it as two adults getting to know each other better."

I sighed. "Okay you're right. It's really not fair if I don't at least try. I'll really try this time. Promise."

"I hope so. I know this is your decision but there are other people's feelings involved."

"I know." And that's the problem. How can I make a decision like this when it's not only going to involve me but everyone else involved? This is way too much pressure.

Sorry for the short chapter. Tell me what you think.
