"I feel bad for leaving you with such a heavy burden," I said into the phone. "You just got back from a major business meeting and I've got you cleaning up my mess."
"You know the point of us both working as the district manager is for that exact reason," Toni said. "It's fine Mo. Don't sweat it. From the looks of things you're going to need my help either way."
"Right. Thanks Toni. You're the best."
"And you know this. Call me later okay?"
"Okay." I pulled into my opened garage door and parked. Zyshonne's truck was already parked along my driveway so I know that he's here. I was a bit nervous about this. Who knew how our conversation would end up? It could be as simple as us making up and moving on or things could escalate even further. I just hope we don't end up fighting and disturbing my neighborhood. I opened the door and was hit with something that smelled delicious. I peaked around the corner and saw Zyshonne was cooking. "Hey," I smiled walking over to see what it was.
"What's up?" He said stepping back to let me see. "I figured you'd be hungry so I made you something."
"Oh my god yes! I haven't had your cooking in forever. Let me go shower and then I'll be right back." I put my bag down and rushed to my room. My house is pretty small since I'm the only one that stays here. It's only a one bedroom house and even if Zy or Cadence spend the night we end up sleeping in my room. I plan on getting a bigger house in the future but only when I'm getting ready to settle down and have a family.
After my shower I got dressed in shorts and a T-shirt before going to the front. Zy was just putting my plate on the island for me. My stomach growled hungrily. I blushed as he started laughing. "You that hungry huh?" he smirked.
"Shut up jerk," I mumbled sitting on the chair. "What's this?"
"Honey garlic Salmon on white rice with steamed vegetables." I took a bite and moaned in delight. It tasted so damn good! He chuckled. "Glad you like it."
"Love it," I said. "You're not eating?"
"Nah. I gotta get Cadence soon and I think it's better if I just come out and say what I came to say before I lose my nerve." I nodded nervously. "I just want to apologize about the way I've been acting lately. You didn't deserve it."
"Of course not," I huffed and folded my arms. "You've been acting like a moody asshole. What's up with that?"
"Well uh..." He rubbed the back of his head nervously. I looked at him a bit confused. Zy isn't the nervous type or the one to get tongue tied. That's more my department. "You see...shit!" He cursed turning away from me.
"Hey you okay?" I stood up but he just held his hand up to stop me.
"I don't know how you're going to take this so I don't even know if I should tell you," he said.
"We're best friends Zy. You can tell me anything."
"That's the problem," he mumbled. I just kept getting even more confused by the second. What the hell is wrong with this boy? He turned to look at me again. "I love you Mo."
"Okay?" I said in a questioning manner. "I love you too?"
He sighed and shook his head. "You don't get it."
"What don't I get? You're not making any sense right now Zy."
"It's just-fuck! I don't love you like a friend Mo."
My eyes widened a fraction. "Wha-"
"I've been trying to convince myself otherwise but I just can't anymore. I thought if I buried the feelings away then everything will be fine but it's not. I don't just love you Mo. I'm in love with you. I've been in love with you for a long time and when I saw you were talking to other guys I got jealous and upset. I want to see you happy Mo. I really do. But I want to be the cause of your happiness."
