Jayden

I frowned at the paper sitting in front of me. It was a good proposal but not at all where it should be. I grabbed my office phone to call the member of my team who was careless enough to give this to me.  I mean seriously? The budget is way too extensive for this job. I want to know who's the genius that drew these up. They ought to be fired for their incompetence.

There was a knock on the door that got my attention. "Who is it?" The door opened without me granting them permission. I was about to chew out whoever it was until I saw it was Monique. I put the phone down to give her my undivided attention. She never finds her way to my office so I was a bit interested in what she was doing here. "Hello Monique," I smiled.

"Hey Jayden," she smiled and waved a little. "Sorry for interrupting your work but I need to speak with you about something."

"Must be important."

"Well not really I guess," she said nervously. "You see uh...when you asked me out to dinner...did you really mean it as...a date?"

"I guess I wasn't as smooth as I thought huh?" I chuckled lightly.

"You did?" she asked in surprise. "But why? Why do you want to go out with me?"

"Why else? You're a very beautiful woman I find myself attracted." Her face held a look of shock. "You shouldn't be surprised, Monique. I'm sure you've noticed how all the men here drool over you."

"They do?"

"Yes. That's why the women don't take to you very much. You're very alluring and men find themselves tripping over each other to get close to you. I don't know why you're so self-conscious when you have every reason to walk around like the goddess you are."

"O-Oh," she muttered looking a bit embarrassed. "T-Thanks."

I chuckled a bit. "Just speaking the truth. Now that you know my real motive, will you go out to dinner with me?"

"Um...sure," she said under her breath.

"I can't hear you?" I grinned playfully.

"I said yes," she giggled. I chuckled.

"Good. How about tonight? I completely understand if you're not free since it's kind of last minute."

"Tonight's fine. Where do you want to meet up?"

"I want it to be a surprise so I'll pick you up. I may still be fairly new to the city but I think I can find my way around to you."

"My place is kind of out the way. I like city life just not enough to be stuck in the middle of it. I live in Powder Springs it's kind of far out-"

"You live there?" I asked in surprise. "I live in that area too."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah. I just moved into the Villa Springs area."

"This is crazy," she shook her head before pausing. "You're living in that three bedroom house at the end of the drive aren't you?"

"Yeah?"

"Holy shit you're my neighbor!"

"Wow," I chuckled. "This whole time I thought my neighbor was some weird shut-in and that's why I never met you."

"I feel so slow," she laughed a bit. "I always said I'd come over to introduce myself but I was always too tired or something always came up."

"I would've introduced myself too but you were almost never there and if you were you'd be locked up in the house."
