"You look cute!" Toni cheered over the phone. I was currently getting ready for my date with Zyshonne. Toni insisted on Facetiming me in while I got dressed. She was even more excited than I was. "Where do you think you're going?"

"I don't know," I mumbled fixing my shirt. "He wouldn't tell me."

"Guess."

"I don't know. Dinner maybe? I've never been on a date with Zyshonne so I do not have the slightest clue where he'd want to go." After Zyshonne agreed to our date he hadn't given me much details on what we were going to do.

"Can you at least pretend to be a little excited?"

"I'm nervous Toni. I'm going out on a date with my best friend since forever. This is weird."

"What did I tell you?" she mugged me. "Don't think about it like that."

"I'm trying," I whined. "It's just-" There was a knock at the door that cut me off. "I think that's him. Isn't he kind of early?" I asked nervously.

"Don't overthink it Mo. Have fun okay? Love you!"

"Love you too," I mumbled hanging up the phone. I let out an uneasy breath. My hands were trembling nervously. I tried calming my beating heart before going to the door. "Just two adults going out to get to know each other," I mumbled to myself. "Nothing weird about that. Nothing at all." I breathed in deeply before opening the door.

"What's up?" Zy smiled at me. "Got you something." He handed me a bag.

"What is it?" I eyed the bag suspiciously.

"Open it duh," he chuckled. I did and my eyes lit up. He laughed. "I knew you'd like it."

"You got my fat kid snacks!" The bag had hot chips, chocolate candy, seeds, and an Arizona in it.

"Yup. Ready to go?"

"Yeah." I took out a snickers bar and put the bag down before following him to his truck. He opened the door and helped me in before getting inside himself. Out of habit, I reached for the AUX cord to play my music.

"Are you going to play Kevin Gates new album again?"

I glared at him. "No. Shy Glizzy one."

"Lame."

"Fuck you." He chuckled and drove off. The ride with him was more relaxing than Jayden I admit. I bobbed my head to the music all the way to wherever he was taking us. We ended up at the museum. "We're going to the museum?" I was blown away by this. Zyshonne HATES museums. He's always said they were boring and useless.

"Yeah there's this new exhibit here that ma said was nice."

Turns out the exhibit was only for a few days and we so happened to have turned up a day too late. So we ended up seeing the other stuff but it was extremely boring. History was never Zyshonne's best subject so when he did try to spark up conversation on what we saw some of the events were mixed up and he didn't seem like he fully understood what he was talking about. I felt really bad about the whole thing. We ended up cutting out early and just going to dinner.

"Sorry about the mix up," he said as we got in the car. I can tell he was really embarrassed by the whole thing.

"It's okay," I gave him a reassuring smile. "It's not your fault you didn't know the exhibit would be over with this soon."

"Yeah but I looked up everything that was going to be in it so we could talk about it. I guess I should've paid attention to when the event would be over." I was surprised he went that far. Like I said history isn't his cup of tea but hearing he was willing to do the research and put up with it just to have something to talk about touched me a bit. "Let's go eat," he said quickly pulling off. I can tell he was still upset but I had no idea what to say at this moment. The ride to the restaurant was silent. I didn't even want to play my music.
