Stefan's POV:
I woke up early that morning to the sound of Elena talking in my ear.
''Stefan, you have school today, silly. Get up and get ready.'' She said.
''I'm not going to school today because this is where I need to be, right here. Right by your side.'' I responded, opening my eyes.
''No no no, you need to be in school.'' She said, not budging with the idea of me staying here. ''I would love for you to be here, but you can't.''
''Yes I can. I've learned this stuff over and over again over the years and going to school anymore is becoming pointless to me. I can spare one day and lay in bed with my girlfriend because she needs me. Now no more if, ands or buts, I'm staying right here and you can't stop me.'' I said, smiling.
''You are such a handfull, what am I ever going to do with you?''
''You could come here and give me a kiss.'' I said.
Before she even got the chance to move, I moved and put my lips right on hers and grabbed her side, trying not to hurt her, as I pressed down with so much power.
''You make me so happy.'' She said.
''You make me even happier, Elena Gilbert.'' I said back. ''Now you lay right here, while I go downstairs and make us some breakfast, you look like you could eat.''
She nodded and I walked downstairs, before even realizing that I wasn't supposed to be here and staying over night, and I walked right into Jenna downstairs, and to make this situation even better, I didn't have a shirt on.
''Oh, Jenna... I didn't know that you were, uh, home.'' I said.
''Ah, yes. I don't go into work for about another hour. It's okay though, Stefan, I checked on Elena last night and saw you there with her. I don't usually approve of these types of things, but her being in this situation, I can make an exception.'' She said.
I looked over at her with a smile and offered to make her some breakfast, but she refused and said she already ate and just wanted to relax for a bit.
I walked into the kitchen and made me famous eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. Which was the first meal that I made for Elena when we first starting talking.
I heard someone coming down the stairs, and to my suprise it was Elena.
''Elena, honey, don't try and come down these stairs with that leg of yours. Let me help you.'' Jenna offered, before I had the chance too.
Jenna walked up the stairs and grabbed onto Elena's side and took her hand as she forced her down the rest of the steps.
Elena's face didn't seem like she was having this situation, but she was up and moving which was progress.
Jenna helped Elena into the chair in the dining room, where I put a plate of food down in front of her.
''Looks like someone finally got of bed.'' I said before kissing her temple.
''I'm sick of laying in bed all day, and besides, this cooking of yours smelled so good from upstairs, I had to get a closer look.''
I set my plate down next to her and took a seat, and watched her eat some of her eggs.
''Is there a reason you're watching me eat and not eating yourself?'' She said, looking up, holding her fork in her hand.
''Because you're beautiful.'' I said, before grabbing some of my eggs.
She nudged me in the shoulder before putting her eyes back onto her plate.
''Elena, honey, I'm about to leave for work. Is there anything else you need before I go? Anything you need Stefan?'' Jenna said.
''Nope, nothing. Thank you for all your help. Stefan will be here to help me if I need anything.'' She said.
''Stefan, aren't you going to school today?''
''Uh, no, I decided to take just one day off to help Elena with everything before she goes to therapy for the first time tomorrow and doesn't need my help so much anymore.'' I said.
She nodded and grabbed her purse and headed out the door, and Jeremy came from upstairs, with his bookbag open and his jacket unzipped, obviously running late.
Without saying anything to us over in the kitchen, he grabbed a piece of bacon before running outside and screaming to Jenna to wait, because he needed a ride.
Me and Elena both looked at each other and laughed.
After we were done eating, Elena made her way up the stairs, with my help, and into her room.
She walked over to her dresser, setting her hands on top of it for support, and opened the drawer and grabbed a baggy shirt and a pair of sweatpants.
''Stefan, can you please help me out a little over here with putting these on.'' She said.
I walked over to her and set her down on the bed, before removing her shirt and her petite body reveailing itself to me. I looked down at her scars for a moment, trying not to notice the dry blood that was still there, and back up and grabbing the shirt that was in her hands, and sliding the shirt over her arms, trying my hardest not to hurt her.
I then removed her pajama pants and grabbed the sweatpants she had out, but put them back down when I saw the gash in her leg, I wipped my finger over it and placed a light kiss on it.
She looked down at me and winced a little in pain.
''As much as I love looking at your amazing body, these scars scare me. I don't want you to hurt.'' I said.
''It's fine, Stefan. Now help me stand so you can put these sweats on me.'' She said in return.
She sat up a bit and trying not to lift her leg or put any added pressure on it, I slipped on her pants.
''You're the best.'' She said.
''Now, you're the best.'' I teased back.
She grabbed my face with her hands and her finger nails wipped against the side of my cheek before she kissed me and planted kisses on my neck.
I took this mood in and realized that I should do the same.
I placed kisses on her neck, standing up a bit to hover over her.
She moved her head in sinc with my kisses and then look into my eyes.
''As much as I would love to continue this, I don't think I can without hurting myself.'' She said, ending that.
I agreed and gave her the crutches that the doctor gave us and she used them again to go back down the stairs and out the front door, to sit on her swinging bench.
I sat next to her and put my arm around her as we looked up into the sky together.
''I feel a lot better than I did yesterday.'' She said.
''You are? I'm so glad baby.'' I said.
''I just listened to what you told me last night. I've been through this once before so I can do it again. I need to stay strong and not complain about this because it could of ended worse. I have to push through these couple of weeks, I have to go to therapy and learn my strengths again. I have to go to school and be crippled. I can do it.'' She remarked.
''Yes, you can do it. I know you can.'' I said, beleving in her.
''Thank you.'' She said.
I kissed her cheek and was stared up in the sky together, with our heads clashing against each other, and pointing up at the birds that were passing by, trying to count how many passed.
I loved little moments like these, where we both didn't have a worry or care in the world, and forgot about our surroundings.
