I Had To Know Her

Chapter 21

Elena's POV:

I awoke in the morning but not by my alarm, by Jenna, shaking me back and forth and screaming Elena in my ear.

''Uhh... What?'' I finally spoke, opening my eyes.

''Elena. It's past 8:00, and you are late for school. But that's not what I'm worried about at the moment anymore. What is that on your neck?'' 

Shit.

''Oh this?'' I said, pointing at the hickey on my neck. ''It's from my straightener. No big deal, just burned myself yesterday and the mark hasn't seemed to go away yet.'' 

''Uh huh. I'm sure that's what happened.'' She said. She knew what it was but wasn't trying to harass me this much this early in the morning.

''Wake up. Get up. Get dressed and I'll take you to school.'' She said, leaving the room.

I got up slowly out of bed but once my leg hit the ground, I felt dizzy. I felt like the entire room was spinning all around me. I sat back down for a second and my stomach started to turn. I ached in pain for a moment because I ran over to my bathroom that was attached to my room and removed the toilet seat and sat down and after a moment, I threw up. 

After that was over and cleaned up, I went downstairs to tell Jenna that I was not feeling very good and what happened. She said whatever and told me to go back upstairs and lay down. She wasn't in a very good mood because I made her late for work.

I went back upstairs to my room and laid on my bed, staring at the ceiling and trying to face this feeling of my stomach feeling as if it were in knots. I needed to feel better because today is the day that I get my brace off of my leg and can finally walk normally again and I have been looking forward for this day to come for weeks.

I took a sip of the water out of the glass that was sitting on the night stand next to my bed and sat up for a moment. I don't know what got into me and made me sick so fast.

I remembered everything I did the day before and everything I ate and then it hit me. The dinner Stefan and I made last night. I probably did something wrong and it made me feel all weird..

I texted him to see if he was feeling the same.

To: Stefan

''Woke up sick. Not at school. How are you feeling?''

From: Stefan

''I'm feeling fine. At school and was wondering where you were. Miss you babe.''

To: Stefan

''I'll be fine. Just probably have the stomach flu or something. I have to get my brace off later so I'll call you after that and maybe you could comeover and keep me company.''

From: Stefan

''Sounds great babe.''

I smiled at the text and set my phone down and decided to take a little nap to see if I could maybe sleep off this feeling.

Stefan's POV:

I never realized how boring school was without Elena. I'm used to driving with her to school in the morning and then going to first period with her and staring at her beautiful self until the bell rang to leave that class.

I pulled into her driveway this morning and all the lights were off, so I decided to just pull out and go to school by myself instead of waking her, and she needed the extra sleep if she really is going to get that brace off her leg off today.
