Elena's POV:
I've been free lately. I've been healthy, I've been happy, I've been the person I never thought I would be. I never imagined myself being 17 years old, having both of my parents gone, living with my aunt and brother, and only have a couple close friends, but I also never imagined myself being so in love with someone that I couldn't stand it.
Stefan and I's one year anniversery is coming up this weekend and it feels like we've been together for a lifetime. I can only hope that we can follow in my parents footsteps and become highschool sweethearts, and go to college together, and then right out of college, we can get married and start our own family.
I heard from Caroline, who talked to Tyler, who talked to Stefan, that he's planning something big for our one year. Stefan has been spending a lot more time with the football team, and has actually begun to like the sport more than he thought he was going too, and he considers the team his friends, which is good because when he's with them, it gives me some girl time with my friends.
Stefan is with some of the team right now, so I decided to get ready and go over to Caroline's house, to have a sleepover with her and Bonnie.
I jumped into my car and drove a couple blocks over to her house, and I didn't even need to knock on the door because she came flying out, and gave me a huge hug, which is something she typically does.
''Hey love! How are you?'' She said.
''I'm good, now that I'm here, is Bonnie here yet?'' I asked.
''Nope, she's running late. Like always.''
Bonnie is someone who always ends up running late. I'll be suprised if she makes it to her own wedding on time in the future.
I made my way up to Caroline's room, following behind her and walked over to her mirror, where she had photos of her and Tyler all around it.
''You guys are so cute together. I wish Stefan would take pictures with me. He's so camera shy.''
She smiled.
Bonnie didn't even bother to knock on the door either, and came right up to Caroline's room.
''Hey girls! Sorry, I was running a little late and had to catch up on some stuff.'' She said, walking into the room.
''What else is new.'' Caroline and I said at the same time, and we all bursted into laughter.
''It's so nice being with you girls. I feel like we all don't get to spend time together, just the 3 of us, with our boyfriends and all.'' I said.
''Boyfriends? You guys are the ones with the boyfriends! Speak for yourself and don't make me jealous of you!'' Bonnie said.
''We need to find you someone.'' Caroline said. ''What about, Jeremy?''
Jeremy. My brother.... Being with MY best friend? Yeah, I don't think that will ever sound like a good idea to me.
''Yeah, I think not.'' I said.
''Oh come on, Elena. You don't think that Jeremy would ever go out with Bonnie? I mean look at her! And he isn't so bad looking himself!'' Caroline said.
''Bonnie is beautiful.'' I said, looking over to her and seeing her crack a smile back to me. ''But the thought of my younger brother going out with my best friend since forever kind of makes me a little sick to my stomach.''
''Jeremy is cute.'' Bonnie said, not making this situation any better.
''See Elena! Bonnie even likes him! Set them up! You even said yourself that Bonnie needed someone.'' Caroline added.
''I never said that, you did. I just agreed.''
''See, you agreed, so let's do it. Set them up.'' Caroline said.
I looked around the room and then looked back at Bonnie, who was smiled and having that what-the-heck, lets-do-it look on her face, and I didn't know what to say.
''Maybe. I can maybe get him to go out with you, but that's not a yes. I said maybe.'' I said.
They both smiled and that was the end of that conversation, because tonight is not about boys, it's a night to forget about them for just a moment and focus on us girls.

Stefan's POV:
Tonight Elena is with her friends, girl friends, and I'm out with some of the football team. I've been starting to take a liking to the sport, and I've made a few friends as well.
I feel like I'm getting out there more and it feels good.
''Stefan! Over here!'' Matt said, calling me over.
I walked over to meet him, and he had a drink in his hand.
''You want one?'' He said, seeing myself eyeing his drink.
''Sure! Why not!'' I said.
It's only one drink. I can stop myself if I want to have anymore. I'm not some weird freak vampire anymore and actually have some self control.
Matt and I talked for a while, about football, girls, and how he needed to settle down and find himself a girl.
''You know, I used to date YOUR girl.'' Matt said.
''Oh, I remember that. I didn't use to like you so much when I first started to like her, I thought that you still had feelings for her or something or you guys were going to get back together, and I couldn't have that happen because I wanted her.'' I said.
''I had strong feelings for her back then, but she didn't seem to have the same for me, because we were such good friends before, but that fell apart and now I only see her as a friend to me, a good friend.'' He said.
I don't know how the conversation about finding Matt a girlfriend turned into talking about Elena and her past relationships because that is something that I didn't want to think about. She's mine now, and that's all that should matter.
Before I knew it, hours passed, and Matt and I were still sitting at the table talking to each other, and before I knew it, I looked over and I had about 5-6 empty glasses next to me.
I was feeling a little dizzy, and a little un-easy so I decided that I should probably get going before things get any worse.
Matt fell asleep anyways on the couch, and the rest of the people who were over were doing their own thing.
I went outside and struggled to find my keys that were in my pocket, but once I did, I opened the door to my truck and hopped inside, putting the keys into the start and putting the car in reverse and backing out of the driveway.
I started to drive home and noticed that the lines that helped you stay in your lane on the street were a blur so I tried to focus a little more on the road, and to stay in the lane I was supposed to be in.
I saw a bright light coming up in front of me from the opposite way so I went into the other lane to avoid it, but it was too late, and BOOM.
