Stefan's POV:

There is no better feeling in the entire world than seeing the person you love, being happy. Elena has been so happy lately and the feeling can't help but rub off on me. I've been in a great mood because of her, and because I'm no longer a vampire. I haven't been for weeks and it's amazing. I feel free, like I can do anything in the entire world and it won't matter, because my veins in my face won't pop out, I won't crave blood, I won't become some monster, I don't have to worry anymore, and the people around me will be safe. The supernatural world is a distant memory to me and I never thought I would be able to say those words.

It's the weekend and I have plans tonight with Elena, Caroline, Bonnie, Tyler & Matt. Not my idea for all of us to get together, but Elena wants to drag me along so I can have a closer friendship with her friends.

I don't really have many friends of my own. Only my friend Lexi, who has been dead for many years now, and is the main reason that me and my brother are no longer in contact with one another.

He killed her. My brother, Damon, is a vampire, just as I used to be. The only difference between us is that he feeds off of humans to get blood, all the time. I used to only drink out of blood bags, and would have the every-so-often person to feed on.

Lexi was over one night, and it was pretty late. Damon came home from drinking all day at the bar, and he was angry and Lexi said one more thing to set him off a little more, and he snapped, and bit so far into her neck, sucking out every last ounce of blood in her body, until the veins in her face popped out, and they weren't the normal red color veins, they were dark blue. Her face was purple. She had no chance of being saved at that point.

I was so angry with Damon. He lets every little thing get the best of him and it sucks that he can't see that he's like that.

I miss her everyday. I wish she was still here to meet the woman on my dreams, and all her friends and maybe she could of even hung out with all of us tonight.

I put on a button up dark blue shirt, with khakis and then slid on my nice black pair of shoes. I looked in the mirror with myself and all I thought was 'wow, you clean up nice, Mr. Salvatore'.

I walked out the door and to my truck, and drove over to Elena's house, where I would be meeting her and then picking her up and taking her to wherever she had picked out to go.

I knocked on the door and Jenna answered.

''Wow, Stefan, you look nice, I'll get Elena for you, come inside.'' and I came inside, and closed the door behind me, taking a seat on the couch to wait.

A few moments later, Elena came down the stairs in a long in the back but short in the front black dress, with a gold belt. Her hair was down and it looked longer than ever. She was wearing a lot of makeup but it looked perfect on her. She looked absolutely stunning and I was taken back for a moment.

''Whoa, wow.'' I said, because that was the only thing coming to mind.

''Well hello to you, too.'' She said, kissing me on the cheek.

''You look so so beautiful babe.'' I said, finally words coming to me.

''You don't look so bad yourself.'' She said, before grabbing her purse and grabbing my hand.

''You ready?'' She said, and I followed her out to my car.

We drove a couple blocks over to a resturant, which looked pretty fancy from far away, and we when we got out of the car and got a closer look of the place, it was indeed pretty fancy.

We got inside and everyone was already there waiting for us. Tyler and Caroline were sitting next to each other, and Matt and Bonnie were also. I took a seat next to Matt and Elena took the seat next to me, across from Caroline. It was nice to have some interaction with guys and not just Elena all the time, not saying time with Elena is a bad thing, because it definetly is not. Matt and I started to talk about football, because I haven't been to some of the recent practices with Elena having problems and all, and also the fact that I just got cured from being a vampire and nobody on the football team knew that, or needs to know that.

I told him and promised that I would be at some of the coming up practices, and then hopefully be good enough to be in the first game of the season which was coming up soon.

I didn't really enjoy football all that much, and not like Matt and Tyler did, but it was something to do and to keep myself busy.

I continued to talk to Matt, and then to Tyler, and I even had a conversation with Bonnie and Caroline. It was nice to get to know Elena's friends more and the more we talked, the more comfortable I felt around them, like we could all be friends, and we could hang out more often.

Elena and I really didn't talk to each other at the table all night, but once we got back to my car, we couldn't stop talking to each other. She just kept saying how much she thinks her friends like me and how it makes her so happy and this was just another thing to add to the list of things making her happy and that made me happy.

Elena deserves more than anyone in the entire world to be happy. She had been through so much this year, and I just want the stress in her life to go away, and I try to take most of it away.

I pulled into her driveway to drop her off, but instead, I decided to walk her up to her front door, like people would do after getting home from their first date together, but every date or friend date that I go on with her, is like the first.

''I had a good time tonight.'' I said, when we got up to the door.

''I always have a good time with you.'' She said, and went in to hug me.

We stood there for a moment, just holding each other. I closed my eyes and I knew her eyes were closed too. I never wanted to let her go.

I pushed her away from me for just a moment, and looked straight into her eyes.

''I'm in love with you, Elena Giblert. I am so in love with you.'' I said.

''And I'm in love with you, Stefan Salvatore.'' She said, smiling back at me.

I grabbed her again, and we just stood there for a while longer.
