Elena's POV:
I woke up this morning feeling a lot better than I did when I woke up yesterday morning.
But now for today's challenge of going to the doctor and getting my leg cast removed to begin.
I got out of bed, changed and went downstairs to meet Jenna. This will hopefully be the last time that I have to depend on someone else other than myself for a ride. I can finally drive all by myself again.
It's been a couple of weeks and I don't even walk with my crutches anymore so I've been walking by myself but it will feel nice not to have this big thing on my leg anymore.
We got into the car and drove a couple blocks till we pulled in the doctor's offce parking lot, got out and went up to the 3rd floor.
''Elena Gilbert.'' The person sitting at the front desk annouced when it was my turn to go back.
''Hey, Elena, how are you feeling?'' Dr. Falls said.
''I'm alright. I was a little sick yesterday but I'm feeling a lot better.'' I said.
''Well that's good, ready to get this thing off? I know it's been bugging you a lot but today is finally the day.''
I nodded and she got out whatever tools she needed and it just felt like it popped off.
Underneath the cast, it was a little purple and the scars were still there but mostly healed. I was so happy to finally see that part of my leg again.
We left the doctors office and once we got out the doors, I jumped into the air and danced around for a minute from the joy of feeling free.
I offered to drive home from the office because I haven't been behind the wheel in a few weeks and missed the feeling.
''It's only 10:30am, why don't you just go to school for the rest of the day?'' Jenna said when we were halfway home.
I really didn't want to go to school but I probably should since I already missed yesterday. Another reason is that Stefan told me that he joined the football team and they have practice after school today, and I would already be there to watch him work out. My boyfriend was going to be a jock.
I decided to go. My bookbag was already in the car so I just pulled in the parking lot and grabbed it, and Jenna moved from the passanger seat to the drivers seat and drove home while I walked into school.

Stefan's POV:
School is such a drag. Especially since Elena wasn't at school either. I missed seeing her 1st period or walking with her in the halls.
I'm such a girl sometimes but I do enjoy holding her hand and seeing her face all the time. I mean what person doesn't enjoy looking at someone as beautiful as her?
At lunch, I walked over to the table and Elena was sitting there.
''When did you get here? I thought you were getting your cast off and then heading home, I didn't know you were coming to school.'' I said, kissing the top of her head and suprised to see her.
''I decided to come so that I could be here to watch you at practice.'' She said, smiling.
I forgot all about that. Football practice after school.
''Oh, yeah. I can't wait.'' I said.
I really could wait. I really didn't enjoy sports that much. Ever since I became a vampire, it's been really hard to stay focused in sports. Sometimes people get hurt and they draw a little blood and I have to look away and blah blah blah.
After lunch, I walked Elena to her class and went to the last classes of the day but it wasn't long before the last bell rang and instead of walking to my car to go home, I walked to the locker room and met with the rest of the team.
''Hey, Stefan. Thanks a million for filling in the spot so last minute. I appreciate it.'' Matt said.
''Oh it's no problem, anything to help.'' I said back.
Everyone had their own looks with their names on the top of it. I walked over to one that had my name on it. I opened it to find a jersey and a helmet. Number 17.
I put on all my geer and walked outside to the field to find Elena and Caroline sitting in the stands.
I walked over to them and rested my head on Elena's lap.
''Tired babe?'' She said.
I nodded my head and looked up at her. ''I wannnna nap.'' I said, sounding like a baby.
''We can take a nap when you're done with practice but now is not the time for that. Go out there and play. Show them what you can do.'' She said.
She was right. As much as I didn't want to play, and wasn't sure how much skill I had left in me, I had to take one for the team.
I went out into the field and we split into two teams and played against each other. I played quarterback almost the whole time and was pretty impressed with myself.
After we were done and I was sweating in almost every place in my body, a bunch of guys on the team came up to me and complimented me. It made me feel good about taking the spot on the team.
''You played great out there.'' Matt said in the locker room. ''I'm impressed.''
''Thanks man. You're great out there too. I've heard nothing but great things about you for football.''
I walked over to my locker and put my equipment inside before walking out and finding Elena waiting for me.
''You did great.'' She said, kissing me on the lips.
''Thanks babe. Now time for that nap?'' I said, kissing her back.
''Sounds perfect.''
I drove back to my house and walked upstairs before crashing onto my bed and pulling Elena with me. She laughed and cuddled up next to me.
''After a hard day, it's always nice to have you right here with me by my side.'' I said.
''Of course.'' She said, smiling.
She cuddled up closer to me and you couldn't even fit a piece of paper between us. I wrapped my arm around her and closed my eyes and she closed hers.
