I Had To Know Her

Chapter 17

Elena's POV:

Beep. Beep. Beep. 

I can't believe that I'm saying this, but I've missed the sound of my alarm clock going off in the morning.

Getting out of bed was the only bad part.

Yesterday at therapy, we did complex activities that really threw off my leg and it was super sore but no complaining today, I was going to get up, get ready for school and have a good day.

I got out of bed, put some clothes on and just put my hair in a messy bun because when you have a super large cast on your leg, do you actually think people are going to worried about how good your hair looks? I think not.

Stefan offered to pick me up this morning and when I looked out the front door, he was already waiting there.

I got outside and got into his little red car and we drove to school.

''Looks like someone is a little too excited to be at school.'' He said, when he saw my smile when we pulled into the parking lot.

''Not excited, just relieved.'' I said back.

He helped me out of the car and I already saw Caroline running over to the car.

''Well looks who is back at school today, Mrs. Elena Gilbert, or should I say Salvatore?'' She said, winking at Stefan.

I blushed and Stefan replied with ''that has a nice ring too it.''

We all walked into school, and by walked I mean them walking and me using my stupid cructhes. I could not wait to be done with these stupid things.

I didn't even bother to look for the rest of my friend group because walking was becoming a chore. I walked straight to first mod.

Mr. Simon greeted me with a finger wave over to his desk where he had a folder with my name on it sitting right on his desk.

''Sorry to hear about your accident, but that does not mean that school work stops coming for you.'' He said, handing me the folder. ''Here's all your makeup work for the time you were gone. I don't need it by tomorrow but try your best not to fall behind.''

I replied with a sigh, realizing it was just the begginging of the work.

At the end of the day, I had enough work for an army to do. That's what I get for being a dumbass.

I hopped into Stefan's car and he asked me if I wanted to comeover but I replied quickly with ''no.'' because of all the work.

Thanks school, for taking time away from being with my boyfriend.

He dropped me off at home and I walked inside and sat right down at the kitchen table where Jeremy was also sitting, doing his own homework.

''Someone's going to be sitting at this table a long time tonight.'' He said.

''Don't remind me.'' I said, setting everything down and starting.

''Elena?'' He said.

I didn't really want to talk and I wanted to focus but I replied with a ''yes, Jeremy?''

''Nevermind, you won't get it because you're a....girl.'' 

Now I wanted to know.

''No, tell me now. You already brought it up.''

''Ugh, fine. I kinda like this....girl.'' He started. ''We've been talking for a little and I think she digs me and I totally dig her too.''

''Jeremy, likes a girl?'' I said. He usually doesn't like to talk to me about these kind of things.

''Maybe a little. I just don't know how to maybe like ask her out on a date or something like that.'' He said.

I talked to him about what Stefan did when he took me on a date. How we went to a nice dinner, but I left out the part about him getting on the table and shouting to everyone his love for me. Jeremy didn't need to know that or go that far.

He took my advice and seemed like he was into the girl and was actually going to do something nice for her like a date.

It made me smile seeing my little brother happy. 

Now back to this work.

Stefan's POV:

Elena didn't get to comeover because she had so much make up work from school to do.

I used this time to call some of Elena's friends over to think or something to do for Elena's birthday that was coming up.

Nothing too extreme due to her leg still being in a cast, but something she deserved.

This also gave me the chance to get to know her friends a little more than I already did. It also gave me a chance to forget about the cravings lately.

The doorbell rang and Bonnie and Matt were standing in front of me.

''Hey, guys. Come in and take a seat. Where's the other two?'' I said.

''The lovebirds will be here any moment. They always run a bit late.'' Bonnie replied.

And about 20 minutes later, the doorbell rang once more and Tyler and Caroline arrived and took a seat next to the rest of them on my couch.

''Hey guys, I know this is weird and all because you don't really know me all that well but I was hoping that you guys could help me plan someting for Elena's upcoming birthday.'' I started.

''Ah, yes! I love planning and parties.'' Caroline's perky self said.

''Great.''

We all thought together or something Elena would really enjoy and then it came to me.

''Why don't we do a suprise party?'' I suggested.

The rest of them loved the idea. 

We planned to have it at her house when she wasn't home, probably when she had a therapy appointment. I would inform Jenna that we would be doing it so she could distract her a bit longer if we needed the time.

Ballons. Cake. Presents. We needed a lot of stuff but the girls and guys decided they would get everythinb but the cake, and I was perfectly fine with that.

Mostly the girls would be getting everything, because what guy likes planning a suprise party? I know I don't, but for my Elena, I would do anything.

We planned to have the party sometime next week, and too keep it on the down low so Elena didn't find out.

Now, I just needed to think of the perfect present to get her.
