Elena's POV:
The party was actually pretty great, even though I didn't spend most of the time there with my friends. I spent it with a new guy, named Stefan.
He was pretty cute and super nice. We even exchanged numbers and plan to get together again sometime soon.
I feel stupid, it being only the 2nd day of school and I already have a little crush on a boy. He wasn't just any boy though. He seemed different. I didn't know what was so different about him.
Maybe it was the way he dressed. He did dress a little on the motorcycle boy side. That kind of throws off clues that he's a bad boy, not that I have a problem with that.
I don't know what it was, but it didn't matter. No need for me, Elena Gilbert, to judge someone by their cover.
I finally pulled into my driveway and was ready to just get this costume off and go to bed.
''How was the party? You seem to of stayed the whole time, I was expecting you to think it was soooo borning and come home early but you didn't.'' Aunt Jenna said as I opened the door.
''It was good.'' I said with a smile.
''Elena, smiling? I don't remember the last time something like this happened.''
She knew something was up, but she didn't say anything more because it was getting late and from the bags coming out from under my eyes, she could tell I needed to go to bed.
I didn't really want to tell her about Stefan yet anyways. It wasn't like he was my boyfriend or anything. Just a guy that I met at school and then again at the party. No big deal.
I went up the stairs and peaked into Jeremy's room, which of course, he was already sleeping so I shut the door and took a couple steps until I entered my room.
I shut the door behind me, took off my costume and changed into my pajamas.
I then layed into bed and before my head even hit the pillow, I was out like a light.

Elena's POV:
I woke up in the morning to the sound of my alarm clock.
I really did not want to go to school. I just wanted to lay in bed all day but that wasn't happening.
I got out of bed, turned the straightener on and put on a pair of light blue jeans and a grey shirt. I walked over to the straightener, not hot, straightened my hair and slipped on my white shoes.
I grabbed my bookbag, said my hello and goodbye to Jenna and went to my car.
I normally take Jeremy to school but he told me that he didn't feel good today and didn't want to go. Probably a lie but I wasn't in the mood to argue with him that early in the morning.
I didn't notice that I was running a little late until I pulled in the parking lot and looked at the clock in my car, it read 7:54, the first bell rung at 7:30. Oh well.
I walked into class awkwardly, and took my seat. Mr. Simons didn't say anything to me. It's only the second day of school so they don't mark you tardy yet.
I noticed Stefan staring at me from across the room.
I turned around to smile back, but Mr. Simon didn't like the idea of me not paying attention.
''Elena, since you don't like to look to the front of the classroom, how about you answer the next question on the board for me.'' He said, crossing his arms across his chest.
