Stefan's POV:
I woke up in the morning realizing that I fell asleep in the chair outside of Elena's room.
I looked around for a clock and found one that read 7:19am. Elena was probably still sleeping and I don't think Jenna or anyone stayed over night, so I walked back and walked into Elena's room.
Nobody was there except for her. She was all covered under the blanket, in her gown that you're required to wear in the hospital, sleeping like a baby.
I didn't want to wake her so I just sat in the chair next to her bed, waiting for her to open her eyes.
Not too much later, she tossed and turned over to the her side and was facing me, and opened her eyes and smiled.
''Someone looks like they're feeling a little better than yesterday already.'' I said.
''Yeah, I just didn't understand anything yesterday and was having like anxiety but I understand it now. I'm just really sore and everything hurts. I want to go home.'' She said, not smiling anymore.
''You'll be going home soon, I promise. You just have to stay with me through this time that you're here and you'll be okay. Okay?''
''Okay.'' She said.
The doctor walked in, realizing that she was awake.
''Ms. Gilbert. I understand that you know about your leg, and I will be giving you crutches to use when you leave to help you walk, and you will be needing to go to therapy to learn how to walk on it again without so much pressure.'' He said. ''Your other leg will be healing quickly and you can take off the large bandage and put something else on the cuts if you would like anytime, same with your arm.''
''When will I be able to leave?'' She said.
''You can actually leave today, after we run a few more tests to make sure everything else is working okay.''
She was relieved and so was I.
The doctor wheeled her bed down the hallway after we said our goodbye's and she went into the testing room for one last scanning.
About an hour later, she returned back and the doctor said that everything else seemed just fine and she was checked out to go home.
I got a wheelchair from down the hall and brought it up to her bed side and helped her into it.
I could tell how much pain she was in by me doing this, but this was the only way that I was able to get her home.
''Stefan. Please be careful.''
That's all she kept saying to me, but I just listened and helped her.
Once she was in the wheelchair, the doctor came over to take the bandages off her unbroken leg and arm.
She did not like that at all, because she was holding my hand and squeezing it with so much power that I thought my hand was going to fall off.
Once that was over, I wheeled her out the doors and helped her into the passanger seat of my car, which was another chore.
We drove home and I held my hand out so she could squeeze it whenever she wanted too on the ride home.
I pulled into her driveway and Jenna and Jeremy were standing at the end of it, waiting for her to come home.
Jeremy rushed to the door and opened it for her, before grabbing her and helping her out. I ran to the other side and held her side until we reached her room and she layed down on the bed.
''As much as I love seeing everyone and having so much attention today, I think I want to take a nap, I'm so tired and sore.'' She said.
I nodded and kissed the top of her forehead because leaving her room and shutting the door behind me.
I walked back out to my car to grab her crutches and set them against the table beside her couch.
''Stefan, I can't thank you enough for being there for Elena and helping her through this time. I couldn't imagine what could of happened if you weren't there for her. I appreciate it.'' Jenna said.
''Oh it's no problem at all, it's my job to protect her.'' I responded. ''I think I'm going to head home for the night. I haven't been home since I took Elena to the hospital and I am exahused.''
''Well you have a good night, and come back soon, she needs you.''
I waved my goodbyes to Jenna and Jeremy and walked out the door and to my car.
I sped home because all I wanted to do was go to bed.
My Uncle Zach greeted me at the door. I texted him when I was at the hospital letting him know what was happening and that I didn't know the next time I would be home.
''Is she okay, man?'' He said.
''Yeah, she's fine now. Just a little broken and bent, but it always could of been worse. I'll talk to you about it later, I am so tired.'' I said before walking upstairs to my bedroom.
I layed down on my bed and I was out like a light.

Elena's POV:
I didn't fall asleep when I told Stefan and everyone that I wanted to take a nap.
I couldn't sleep. I was in so much pain that I just wanted to die.
I've been through this before, not being hit by a car, but this much pain, when I was in the car accident with my parents.
I hated thinking about the accident, but this accident made me think about it more than I usually did and put me in some type of mood that isn't me.
I tossed and turned in bed until I could find a comfortable spot but I never did, so I just layed upwards and stared at the ceiling.
I haven't been to school in 2 days which is horrible at the beggining of the year because you're just getting into things and getting so much work.
Stefan didn't go to school for 2 days either because he was by my bedside the entire time which I loved.
Having him there for me was a great feeling. I loved having everyone there for me, but everyone left at some point, but not him. He always stayed right there by my side.
The thought of going to school tomorrow on crutches was on my mind. I was already exaughsted walking around school without crutches because I hated being there, but now I just added and extra chore.
My door opened.
''Honey, Elena are you alright? Do you need anything?'' Jenna said, walking over to my bedside.
''I'm fine, Aunt Jenna, thank you though.''
''Alright, well if you need anything then just yell. I'll be here as quick as I can. Try and get some sleep so you can have some energy to go to school tomorrow.'' She said before walking out of the door and into her room.
I looked over at the clock once she left, and it read 10:25pm, which is getting pretty late for being a school night and all.
I got a lot of sleep while I was in the hospital but somehow, I was still super tired.
After laying in bed for a while longer, I finally closed my eyes and fell asleep, not thinking about all the pain that I was in.
