Lucky Numbers

The next day, Jade and Cody had practice. They had to be at the arena by eight. Jade woke up extremely early. Cody was waitin for her downstairs.

"Babe.. Im gonna go" Jade said

"Ok.. see you in a couple of hours" LJ said

"See ya"

Jade gave him a peck and went out the door. Jade saw Cody waitin by the door. They walked out to Jade's truck and off they went to the arena.

Jade and Cody made it the arena and started to saddle up. Jade was saddling up when a taxi pulled up. Out walks LJ. He wore a tshirt, denim jeans, square toed boots and a hurley cap. Jade watched him walk towards her, makin her forget what she was doing. Cody waved his hand in front of her face.

"Jade.. you ready" Cody asked

"Umm.. Umm.. yeah.. I think so" Jade stuttered

Cody chuckled and jumped on his horse. Jade was tightening up her cinch on her saddle, when LJ was right behind her. She felt chills run down her spine.

"Jade.. you forgot about breakfast" LJ whispered

"uh.. uh.. I can wait.. t-till a-after" Jade stuttered again

"Mmm..No"

"Babe!" Jade whined

"Yes Jade..."

"No.. Cody is waitin for me.."

Jade quickly jumped on Viper. Then she looked down, her horse didnt have his split boots, skid boots, and bell boots on. She didnt have a rope and a glove either. Jade had no choice but to get back off.

"Oh dear.. looky here.. seems like Jade got a bit ahead of herself" LJ joked

"This is your fault" Jade complained

LJ smiled to himself. He helped her saddle up. LJ jumped on Eagle and Jade jumped back on Viper. They rode into the arena. Jade was speechless. She couldnt believe that she'll be roping against the best in the Thomas & Mac.

"Bout time you show up" Cody joked

"Your funny.. but uh.. i got held up by this ass" Jade said while pointing at LJ

Cody laughs at her. She playfully slapped his shoulder. Jade looked behind her, finding LJ talking to Tyler. She continued to talk to Cody.

While Jade was warming up her horse. A handsome team roper was warming up next to her. He wore a black polo shirt, a classic rope cap, dark denim jeans, and he made Jade speechless. She wasnt paying attention until Tyler bumped into her.

"Woah.. Whats the rush sis" Tyler teased

"nothing"

Tyler focused on what Jade was looking at. Tyler yelled for his name. Jade gave him a shocked look. As in 'no.. dont call him over'. Jade got herself together. But what is she doing? Shes engage to LJ, why is she nervous around this guy.

"Hey Tyler" a male voice spoke

"Hey.. I want to introduce you to someone. Will this is Jade.. Jade this is Will" Tyler introduced them

"Nice to meet you. Wait are you the girl who qualified for the team roping. right?" Will said

"Likewise.. yeah I am"

"Whose your partner"

"Cody.. he is riding that lil bay.. right there" She said and spotted him out

"Ah.. well hes lucky to have you as a partner"

"Well.. it was last minute thing."

"Oh I see"

"Who are you ropin with"

"Derrick"

"Ah.. Well good luck throughout the finals"

"Thanks.. see ya at the dinner tonight"

"What dinner"

"For our back numbers"

"Oh.. hahaha.. yeah"

Will smiled at her and rode off. She was dreaming when a hand touched her shoulder. She flinched from the contact. She turned to look and it was Kollin; more handsomd than ever. Jade looked at him like he was a hollywood celebrity. Then she smiled at him.

"Good morning Jade" Kollin said

"Morning KVO" Jade said with a smile

"How was the drive"

"Ugh.. Tiring.. but I sure need the practice though"

"Yeah.. good luck Jade"

"You too Kollin"

Jade and Cody were the first ones out. Everyone was impressed by how they roped. Jade was more fired up than anybody. Eagle and Viper worked great. LJ was the stall boy for the day. He helped feed, water, unsaddle, and put them back in the stalls.

"That was fun" Jade said proudly

"Yeah.. it was" Cody said

"Where to" LJ asked

"New York New York" Jade said

"New York Pizza" Cody shouted

LJ nodded his head. They parked in the garage and walked into New York New York. LJ and Jade walked hand in hand. He held the door open for her and the place was packed. When they made it to the food court, there was a long line. The line was slowly moving. The pizza scent made Jade's mouth watery.

Ten Minutes Later

LJ paid for their lunch. Cody followed. They sat at a nearest table. Jade carried the drinks. LJ sat next to Jade and Cody sat across from her.

"Oh god! Im finally havin my fix" Jade said

LJ smiles at her. Cody shakes his head and chuckles. After lunch, they went back to their room. LJ and Jade wanted to get some rest for tonight. 

Seven PM

Jade, Cody, and LJ sat at the same table. They waited for their event. In a distance Jade saw Kollin, Angie, Tyler and some girl. Kollin waved at her and she smiled back. Something about that other girl. She looked familiar. Jade saw her somewhere, but cant put her finger on it.

"Babe... everything ok" LJ asked concern

"Uh... yeah" Jade responded

LJ and Jade locked hands and enjoyed the dinner. Finally the team roping event rolled around. Jade was excited. Cody smiled at her. When they called her name, she sprung up. Then walked as calm as she can. Jade wanted to run up there and snatch that number.

Jade's backnumber was eighty-eight. Cody's was ninety. They proudly held their numbers as the audience cheered. Then took their seats. The three of em waited on LJ's number. Jade took a pic of her backnumber and sent it out. Everyone replied with 'good luck and congrats' or 'I'll be rootin for ya'.

An hour later, they called up all the bullriders. LJ walked up to the stage to recieve is backnumber. His number was eighty seven. Jade smiled at his number. He was one number ahead of Jade.

"Eighty-seven.. sounds like a good year" Jade joked

"Sure was... was the year a champ was.born" LJ said while refering to himself.

Jade just rolled her eyes and smiled. LJ kissed the top of her head. She leaned against him.

After the contestants recieved their backnumber, everyone left. Because they had to rehearse for the grand entry tomorrow morning.

Jade, LJ, and Cody recieved their numbers. How will the finals go? Will it be good or bad?

BTW im gonna start focusing on my other fan fic (Young Love). Because more ideas are comin up for that book than this one.. but when more ideas come up for this one... Ill update. Till then Ill be workin on Young Love.
