Rope or Ride

Jade and Cody left back to Oklahoma at five in the morning. She took all her horses and tack. As much as she wanted to take Stark, Scoop, and Chancey, she couldn't. She left em for her dad to ride. It broke her heart to leave her boys behind. She knew it was for the better.

Cody was the first one to take the first shift to drive. Jade sat on the passenger side, reading a book. Cody would glance at her every now and then. Then Cody broke the silence.

"Jade.. Are you ready to head back to Oklahoma" he asked

"Somewhat.." Jade said

"Why's that"

"Were heading back to my ex's state..and you guys don't live far from him either"

"Jade... We don't live in Porum.."

"You don't..."

"No.. We stay in Blanchard"

"Oh.. Well that's a relief"

"Yeah... Don't sweat it sis... You got me, Tyler and Kollin there with you.. If you need back up.. We're here for you"

"Thanks bro... Have you seen him lately"

"Here and there... But other than that, not really"

Jade finally snapped that she was suppose to rope with Caiden Sunday. She decided to let him know later. Not only that it was five in the morning. She figured he might still be sleeping.

Cody and Jade talked about anything. Mainly catching up between the two. Cody giving her a heads up, while being on the road. Jade sat there listening to the stories Cody was sharing. Him and Tyler were in a bar fight, somewhere in Montana.

"Oh gosh... I miss you guys" said Jade

"We do too... I think this year is our year Jade"

"I have the same feeling too... But we shall find out"

"We shall... Oh we need to get some desiel"

They made it to Albuquerque New Mexico and pulled over at the truck stop. Two hours away from home, Jade is already missing everyone. She walked inside to pay for the desiel. She walked out and bumped into someone.

"I'm sorry.. Here" Jade said while picking up the snacks

"Oh it's ok... It was accident" said a male voice

"Umm.. Sorry again" Jade said then chuckled

"It's fine... Wait.. Jade?" said the male voice

Jade looked closely to the mysterious person. She tried to remember where she seen him from.

"Shane?"

"Oh my god... Jade!"

It was guy she met at the college finals. She was shocked. She looked at him and had a big smile. He looked way much better than the last time she seen him. He was tall, handsome, nice smile, and so on. He does look like a calf roper now.

"How you been Jade"

"Been good.. And yourself"

"Same.. Where you headin"

"Back to Oklahoma.. What bout you"

"Arizona... "

"Oh... Cool.. Well I better get going..

"Yeah.. See ya around Jade"

Shane and Jade walked in different directions. She walked back to the truck with a smile one her face. Cody looked at her with a confused look. She sat back in the passenger seat, sippin her coffee.
