Chpt 7 : Invitations Archie & Jughead POV

- - Archie's POV
     Jughead's party was going to be in two days and I still haven't told Veronica yet. I saw in her the hall way and said "Hey babe I need to ask you something." I had to jog a little bit to catch up to her and grab her hand. "What is it Archikens?" Veronica replied. "My parents are gone this Saturday night and Sunday so Betty and I are planning on throwing jughead a party at my house Saturday. It would only be the core four though." I explained to her. "sounds really fun and I'll definitely be there." she cheerfully said as she gave me a kiss on the cheek. "Alright Ronnie. See you there I love you" I told her. This party seems like it will be fun.

- - Jughead's POV
I was typing away in the blue and gold offices and then Betty strut into the room. I look at her and saw her smile and watched my own face widen. "Hey juggie, I need to ask you something." I heard her say. "What is it" I reply with some concern in my voice. "Don't worry it's nothing bad. Archie and I wanted to throw a little birthday party for you this Saturday at Archie's house. There wouldn't be many people, only Archie Veronica and me." Betty explained. I hated birthday party's but it didn't seem to bad if only my close friends came. Besides, I could tell it meant a lot to Betty. "Ok. Sounds fun, I'll be there" I told her.

She came closer to me and I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her close to me. She placed both hands on my face and gave me a long lingering kiss. She broke away the kiss when she said "Alright I should go. My dad will probably hit me if I'm late home again." I was puzzled. "Wait did your dad hit you when we went to Pops to Pops not that long ago?" I asked. "Ya" I heard her mumble. "Betty you should have told me" I said, angry that her parents would do such a thing to her. It broke my heart knowing that her parents hurt her. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you jughead. But hey, let's look forward to the party this weekend!" Betty said. "Alright goodbye betts," I said. Hopefully this party wouldn't be too bad.
