Bughead : Lost in love

Chpt 21 : Normal? Archie's POV

Today Betty and jughead walked into hand and hand both with a smile. It was the first time I've seen Betty smile in a long time. She looked and jughead and tapped Jughead's lips. Jughead pulled away and smiled and they took a seat on the couch next to me.
"You look different Betty." I said. I only meant she looked different because she looked happy. "Ya. I guess having my parents gone makes me happier. I don't have to do what they say." She responded, reading my mind that I meant she looked happier.

Jughead looked at her and whispered something in a serious voice. I couldn't hear it but after Betty nodded and smiled. Jughead rubbed her arm and said "Ms. Cooper here is a naughty girl." He says smirking, resisting to not kiss her. "Woah there Jug" I say laughing. Just like how things used to be. Everyone laughing, joking and smiling.

Veronica walked into the room and said "Well the mood has changed in here. Betty how are you feeling after yesterday?" I looked over at Betty, her face now turning to stone. Jughead once again whispered something to her and rubbed her back. "I'm fine Veronica. Thanks for checking in on me." Betty said. Betty smiled at Veronica. "Well if you ever wanna talk about something, just us girls, feel free to B." Ronnie said smiling.

I grabbed Veronica waists and brought her to sit by me. "Hey beautiful." I said to her. She smiled and said "Stop being such scandal," biting her lip, "were at school." She sat down next to me and I put my arm around her neck. "The mood in here seems different. Normal." Veronica said. "As if." I hear Betty blatantly whisper. Jughead nudged her and squeezed her shoulder. Maybe Veronica spoke too soon.

     Jughead and Betty both looked uncomfortable after Betty made that remark. They both knew something. Jughead stood up and grabbed Betty's arm. "Betty I need to show you something in blue and gold. Come with me." Jug said. Jughead has never just left our little morning together at school. "Oh ok." Betty said, also confused why jughead decided to follow him out.

    "Weird." Veronica said. I agreed. "Let's just let it go." I said, "they probably have a reason." Veronica still looked annoyed, but she then smiled. "You're right. I'll probably talk with her anyways." Veronica said. "Sounds good" I replied. I wondered what the hell was going on with Betty.
