Bughead : Lost in love

Chpt 33 : Promise Jughead's POV

     I opened the door to the blue & gold offices and saw Betty sitting in chair. She had her hair down which was rare and was wearing a big grey sweatshirt. She never wears grey but it looked good on her. I shut the door and walked in. Betty's face lit up when she saw me. "Hey juggie." She said yawning after.

     She looked tired now that I got closer to her chair I could see how tired she looked. "You look tired. How early did you get here?" I asked her. "I got here at 5:30. The baby won't let me get sleep." She sighed. She leaned back in her chair and I said "Well what are you working on?" I said sitting down in the chair next to her and putting my computer onto the table.

     Betty and I both enjoy writing and we have a lot of fun working on papers together. "It's something on the south side. Apparently Hiram is rumored to have bought it. They shut it last night and now it's bought the day after." She said. Why the hell would Hiram want to buy it? Something seemed off.

     I hadn't told Betty this but I had joined the south side serpents. This is what made me so mad. All my friends now had lost their school, it all made no sense. "That's bullshit! Why would he even buy it!" I yelled. Betty just looked concerned. She put her hand on my shoulder and said, "Juggie why are you so upset?" I figured I should tell her why. It was because I was a serpent and all my friends now lost their school.

I looked right into her beautiful eyes. "I'm upset because I need to tell you something Betts. I just joined the south side serpents." I said. She looked a little shocked at what I had just said but she didn't look angry. "Are you mad?" I said looking down at my hands. I didn't want to ruin our relationship because I joined a gang. "Jughead I'm not mad. I support you. All you ever do is support me so I support you on this. Just promise me you'll be safe, okay Jug?" Betty said holding my hands and looking into my eyes.

I leaned close to her until I could feel her breath against mine. "I promise." I said. I closed my eyes and leaned towards Betty until we kissed. We both stood up and I pushed her against the table as I felt the heat of her body melt into mine. I pulled away only because I knew Betty was tired and we still had a whole school day left. Also I wanted to hear more about Hiram buying the land.

Betty and I sat back down together and I logged onto my computer to hopefully get 45 minutes of writing done before class. "Betty what more do you know about south side high and Hiram buying land?" I asked. "I don't know much. I was just kind of writing stuff. I was hoping to ask V." I was still so confused about all this that is happening.

Betty leaned back in her chair and just sat there. She looked so tired. "Hey Betty you look so exhausted. Do you just want to go rest? I'll get your homework if you want." I offered. Betty looked to tired to even do writing, and she loves writing. "Maybe. But I can't go home, my parents will kill me if I miss school." She said tucking her hands into her pockets of her sweater. I figured I could just drive her to my house so she could relax without her parents. "You can come to my house and sleep. Or I can skip too and we can watch a movie or something." I offered. She smiled and nodded her head.

We got to my trailer and went into the bedroom. "Juggie do you have a pair of sweatpants I can use? My jeans are really uncomfortable." She said stretching her arms. I walked over to my dresser and said, "ya I have this pair. It'll probably fit you." I handed the sweatpants to her and she took off her jeans and went into the other pants. She took off her jacket revealing a tight white shirt that showed her belly which was noticeabley larger. I also changed into my S shirt and pajama pants and took off my beanie. We both went onto the bed in each others arms and cuddled under the blankets.

I put my hand on her belly because I kind of wanted to feel the baby. Betty was obviously exhausted from the whole process going on in her body. "I'm sorry Jug." Betty said as I finally felt a kick from the baby. "About what Betts?" I asked tracing circles across her back. "I'm sorry that the baby isn't yours." She said. It was so stupid she was apologizing for this because she never wanted to be pregnant. "Betty don't apologize. It wasn't your choice to have a baby." I said responding.

     If anything her whole situation made us a stronger couple. We both realized how much we need each other. "I just wish my first baby could've been with you." She said kind of shyly while looking into my eyes with a sad look and her face. "Me too Betty. I wish your first child was my baby. But one day in the future we will have a baby together and we will be the happiest people alive. I promise you that." I said. In the future I did want to have kids with her and have a happy family. "Promise?" She said. "Promise." I said back.

     Betty and I just watched movies together for the rest of the day and cuddled. Betty took a long nap while we were watching a lot of movies. It was a nice day to skip school to spend some time with my soulmate.
