Bughead : Lost in love

Chpt 11 : Happiest Guy Jughead's POV

     Betty found her way through the crowds of people and we managed to sneak out the party and go to Pops. Betty sat next to me again which was unusual, but maybe it was her new thing now. She nuzzled her head into my chest and made my arm wrap around her. She was acting really clingy, but maybe she was just tired or frustrated after the disaster of the party.

       "What can I get for you two?" The waiter asked us. Betty jumped in her seat a little bit and looked alarmed. I tighten my grip and her, trying to re-assure her things were fine. "One vanilla milkshake and a strawberry one too." I responded to the waiter. "I'll get on it" the waiter said cheerfully.

     Betty put on of her arms on my chest right next to where her head was. I put both my arms around her and asked "betts your really clingy, is everything alright." I looked down at her precious face. She was so beautiful. "Ya I'm ok. I'm just really glad to be with you. I like having you be with me." She responded. Her voice was quaky. Something. Was obviously different but I figured it was family drama. I let it go and continued to let her snuggle up close to me. I lightly rubbed her back and enjoyed our nice moment.

     Maybe my birthday party was a bust at the end, but I was the happiest guy in the world to be sitting in the booth at Pops with Betty close to me. "I love you Betty." I said. I just wanted her to know how happy she made me. "I love you too Jughead. Thanks for always being here for me. No matter what." Betty said as moved both her legs onto my lap. I placed one of my arms around her legs so that they wouldn't fall. "I'll always be here for you Betty. And thanks for being the best girlfriend, especially on my birthday." I hope Betty had an equally good night as I did.
