Bughead : Lost in love

Chpt 48 : We're Okay Jughead's POV

     I woke up to the sound of Kylie crying and the sun wasn't even up. God, parenting was hard. "I'll get her." I mumbled as I snuck out of bed trying not to disturb Betty. I got into Kylie's room and gently lifted her. She gurgled as I shook her to calm her down. She was usually pretty quiet at night thankfully. She only woke up 2-3 times each night but Betty and I would check on her every 4 hours. Kylie laid her head on my chest and stopped crying finally, so I put her in bed and fell asleep on the couch next to her.

I woke up to a familiar touch shaking my shoulder. Damn it, I had school today. I stayed home from school for two weeks so that I could help Betty, but now I had school. Alice would be with Betty to help her with Kylie. "Time to wake up jug." She said sitting next to me on the couch. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I pulled her legs off the ground and made her slide onto my lap. "How you feeling today?" I said as I cradled Betty on my lap and traced my finger across her back. "I'm good. I'm not so sore anymore." She said as she plopped her head onto my shoulder. "I'll miss you st school today." I said almsot in a whisper.

     She snuck her fingers into my bed head and twirled my black hair. "Me too, but you should go back to school now. I want you to get your education Juggie." She said as she breathed onto my neck, her fingers still in my hair. "Ok" I mumbled as I kissed her neck. She was too irresistible. She moved her hands to my neck but still ran her fingers through my hair as I continued to kiss her neck and jaw. I let a sigh out as she pulled away from my soft touch. "Ok, go get ready now Juggie, I'll get Kyles." She said smiling now with love bites across her neck.

  I got up and went to get dressed while Betty played with Kylie and made me pancakes and bacon quickly. I got downstairs and sat at the island in the kitchen where Betty was playing with Kylie. "Hey jug after school we have a meeting with the lawyer." She said as she took a bite omg her pancakes and held Kylie's fingers. "Ok, is it at Archie's?" I asked as I ate my food. "Ya. At school can you ask Veronica to come over and watch her while we meet with Mary?" Betty asked. "Ya I'll ask her. I gotta go betts but I'll see you later. Call me, ok?" I said as I gave Kylie a little pat and kissed Betty's forehead. "Ok, see you later Jug." She said as I left for school.

When I got to school everyone was staring at me. It was like I was suddenly famous. "Where's Betty?" I heard someone say in the crowd I was trying to push through. "Mama problems?" Someone snickered as I was now surrounded by people. "Fuck you, now stay the hell out of my way." I said sternly as I readjusted my serpents jacket. It pissed me off when people talked about Betty like this. It's not like me and Betty were sluts and I knocked her up, she was hurt. "Jughead! Did Betty have her baby?" Some random girl said as she stepped right in front of me. "Get the fuck away from me." I said as I grabbed her shoulder and pushed her away from me.

     I got into the room where Archie and Veronica were sitting and I was finally able to sit down. "God jug that looked rough." Archie said. "No shit, Sherlock." I said as I placed my hand on my head. "You ok Jug?" Veronica asked as she handed me a coffee. "I got you a coffe if you want it too." She said as she rubbed my shoulder. I pulled her hand off of me a sighed. "Yeah, I just hate all this attention on me and Betty. We never wanted any of this drama to happen yet people still get in our business." I said as I leaned back in the chair and tapped my foot on the ground. "That's frustrating, but it'll end up being fine." Archie said as he placed a hand on Veronica's thigh.

      My phone buzzed and it was text from Betty. "How's school? I miss u a lot." Betty texted me. "It kinda sucks. Wish you were here." I responded. Betty sent back a picture of her perfect face and her beautiful baby. The cuteness of Kylie and Betty's perfect smiles put an equally matching smile onto my lips. "Why are you so smily now Jug?" Veronica asked and she tried to peak at my phone. "Betty sent me a cute photo." I said as I showed Veronica and Archie the picture. They broth cooed at the photo however one unexcepted voice was added to the mix.

     "Is that Betty? Oh and the whores kid?" Chuck snickered. I stood up and looked right at chuck. "Shut the hell up Chuck." I said with anger in my tone. "And why would I do that?" He whispered looking dead at me. "You know what I can do. If you let one more word out about Betty, or touch her, or do anything that ruins us, you're gone." I said putting a finger onto his chest and pushing him away. "Oh look at Jughead trying to be tough." He laughed. "What you did RUINED Betty, and I won't have you walk around calling her a slut, or a whore. I may not seem tough but I'll beat the shit out of you." I said walking away. I didn't want to fight him, but because I was afraid of him, but because I did it want to kill him.

     Veronica and Archie followed me, but I got to class and went on with my day. Once the school day ended me Archie and Veronica all went together. It just worked out well, Veronica was going to watch Kylie while me Betty and Archie were talking with Mary. We offered for Veronica to come but she wanted to be with Kylie. I got home and saw Betty and Kylie sitting in the couch, Kylie in Betty's lap. "Juggie!" She said standing up and setting Kylie on her chair and coming to embrace me in a hug. "God I've missed you Betts." I said into her hair. "You ready to meet with Mary." I said rubbing her back and allowing her to dig her head into my shoulder. "Yeah." She said as Veronica knocked ik the door.

     We opened the door and allowed Veronica to take care of Kylie while Betty and I walked to Archie's. "Hi Mrs. Andrews." Betty said shaking her hand. I shook her hand and we all sat down. We talked about when we would take action, how we would do things, and some other typical court stuff. We brought up Kylie I could tell Betty was getting uncomfortable. Betty really did care about Kylie, even if she never wanted to be pregnant. She started squirming and grew pale.

     After about 30 minutes of conversation we left. Well actually, Betty walked home before me while I went to say hi to Archie. Archie and I played a round of fOrTnItE and I decided to go home afterwards. I opened the door and didn't see anyone so I figured Veronica left and Betty was upstairs with Kylie. I walked into the bedroom and saw Betty sitting in the floor, knees to her chest with a razor blade slicing at her thighs sobbing. "Betty? Put that down! calm down ok?" I said kneeling down and taking the razor out of her hands. I grabbed a tissue off the night stand that was next to the corner Betty was cowering in. I dabbed the tissue in her minimal fresh cuts while she continued to sob in the corner.

     I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her shaking body onto lap and we sat as she continued crying. "You're ok Betty, I'm here now, shh." I said as I stroked her hair and pulled her close to me. She calmed down a little bit as I continued to hold tight onto her. "I'm here, I'm here." I'm whispered as she nuzzled into me and sniffed. "You're ok Betty. Kylie is ok, I'm ok." I whispered into her hair while she kept crying. After a few minutes of us sitting and me stroking her hair I noticed she fell asleep so I lifted her up and took her onto the bed. "It'll Be Fine Betts." I said to her as I tucked her into the blanket. I too slipped under the sheets and pulled her as close to me as possible. "We'll Be Fine." I whispered as we both fell asleep.
